As a Release Manager at Waters Corporation you'll be joining a team developing software solutions for the chromatography data systems. You will own the Release Management lifecycle, which includes scheduling, coordinating and management of the releases for our cloud products.  

We are looking for a team oriented, highly motivated individual who is excited to work cross-functionally and will enjoy being the central point of contact for release planning and execution. Attention to detail and organizational skills will be key to keeping our releases flowing, on time and without incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate regular scheduled releases for our cloud-based applications. 
  • Ensure that the organization's release controls are well understood by cross-functional program teams 
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality. 
  • Facilitate the “Go-Live” activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklist procedures 
  • Facilitate release retrospectives to improve the Release Management processes, look for new ways to be more efficient 
  • Work with software engineers to understand the impacts of merge conflicts and CI test failures on managed branches
  • Maintain release documentation and manage key information such as build and release procedures, rollback procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Ensure compliance with Change Management standards and related procedures across engineering, security, and operations teams  

 

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Development organization
  • 4+ years of experience in Software Release management 
  • Understanding of CI/CD, branching and release strategies
  • Ability to organize and execute complex release planning 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to work in highly cross-functional capacity with distributed teams

  • Kubernetes, Grafana, Datadog
  • Experience managing releases in a compliance and regulatory environment
