We are currently searching for an AI Informatics Specialist to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time, remote position with MSC.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop binding hypothesis models for lead optimization projects.
  • Develop and applying computational models for antiviral target discovery and prioritization
  • Work with staff on reviewing technical reviews and evaluations of vendor software in support of informatics; contractor will not be making the final decisions regarding the reviews and evaluations.
  • Develop and applying deep docking and AI/ML models/methods for predicting antiviral activity of chemical compounds.
  • Develop generative models for scaffold enumeration of hit compounds and design of hybrid/dual inhibitors.
  • Work with staff on writing formal research plans for various types of projects within DPI.
  • Work with staff on writing grant applications for various types of projects within DPI.
  • Work with staff on project management tasks for various types of projects within DPI.
  • Author scientific publications on informatics-driven support of probe development projects.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in computer science, computational chemistry, computational biology or a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. OR five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a science related field.
  • Experience supporting drug discovery informatics with skills such as hit identification and lead optimization, molecular dynamics simulations, ligand- and structure-based drug discovery, scientific programming, and cheminformatics.
  • Experience with machine learning tools, such as Scikit.learn, Keras, Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
