Senior Scientist

A Senior Scientist position is now available within the Scientific Operations at Waters Corporation. We are looking for a talented scientist with extensive hands-on analytical laboratory experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing system solutions encompassing sample preparation, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and informatics for biotherapeutic protein/peptide/oligonucleotide characterizations.

A Senior Scientist in the Scientific Operations Group is responsible for providing scientific contribution which impacts product development and business outcomes, and positions Waters as the leading analytical solution provider for biopharmaceutical market. This includes developing new science, technologies, methods, and practices, conduct scientific collaborations with peers from industry and academia, as well as generation and presentation of scientific content using Waters product portfolio to support business activities and new product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop fit-for-purpose application solutions for biotherapeutic drug product characterization with Waters analytical products.
• Design and execute experiments independently. Review and present work for internal colleagues, external customers, and collaborators.
• Produce marketing documents, such as application notes, white paper and peer-reviewed papers to enable the development of marketing initiatives to support Field Marketing and Sales.
• Develop a deep understanding of customers' science objectives (i.e., voice-of-the-customer) through customer collaborations and maintaining an awareness of competitor activities.
• Work collaboratively across the Waters organization, with Product Management and R&D on current and new products and solutions that will better meet customer business objectives.

Qualifications

• Successful candidate should have a postgraduate degree (PhD or Master) in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields.
• Candidate who has extensive working knowledge on biotherapeutics product characterization using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
• Candidate is highly skilled in mass spectrometry data processing and interpretation using various informatics tools.
• Excellent oral and writing skills are preferred.
