Eliquis posts significant YOY growth and revenue attainment as well as achievement of multiple significant leadership milestones. Eliquis operates in a fast-paced, competitive environment with a comprehensive marketing plan promoting multiple indications and reaching multiple stakeholders. Eliquis is a co-promoted product with Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and offers experience operating in a high-functioning joint venture and Alliance structure.
The ELIQUIS Consumer Team is responsible for identifying and applying deep consumer insights to deliver the great value of our brand to patients’ needs and maximize the value of the brand for Pfizer.
The Director, U.S. Consumer Marketing, plays an important role on the U.S. ELIQUIS Team. This individual should have strong consumer marketing experience, including generating and applying consumer insights, developing high impact promotional materials, experience leading the strategic and creative development of DTC campaigns, a strong track record for partnering well with Review Committees and managing agencies. This individual will work closely with other team members on the Consumer Team and those focused on HCP, Hospital, Market Development, and Payer initiatives.

Leading the planning and development of consumer marketing strategies and execution of key consumer tactics across customer segments
Leading the strategic and creative development of DTC TV and digital platforms

In partnership with our Market Expansion team, evolve the strategy and support the execution of the unbranded DTC symptom education campaign “No Time To Wait” raising awareness and educating patients about the increased stroke risk and DVT/PE and the importance of proper diagnosis and treatment.


  • Lead development and planning of marketing strategies and execution of key consumer tactics; Ensure insights, messaging and creative are shared/leveraged across the ELIQUIS Consumer Marketing mix and across customers
  • Lead DTC across the Pfizer - BMS Alliance
  • Manage the current DTC Campaign, lead the development of Pool Outs
  • Explore potential opportunities for innovative indication specific campaign evolutions e.g. lead creative development, OPDP submission, production
  • Manage internal approvals required across the Alliance to ensure engagement/endorsement
  • Lead DTC TV shoots and production of the ads
  • Oversee management of DTC campaign metrics and ensure ongoing optimization, as well as manage ongoing impact of DTC to the ELIQUIS business
  • Actively engage in research and analytics to stay current with patient needs. Campaign performance and optimize the Consumer business
  • Optimize and implement the omnichannel unbranded DTC symptom education campaign “No Time To Wait”
  • Partner with media to oversee the DTC strategy and optimize media mix to reach target patients
  • Serve as a liaison with Pfizer Communications to ensure media and PR tactics are executed in line with overall brand strategies
  • Identify and recommend novel ways to increase reach and awareness among underserved communities
  • Lead Virtual Assistant for the Alliance and partner with BMS
  • Manage the general advertising agency of record and engage with other partner agencies
  • Responsible for managing alliance Consumer marketing budget


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MPH preferred
  • Min of 7 years of marketing experience, with strong knowledge and track record of success in Consumer Marketing preferred; 4+ years pharma marketing experience preferre
  • Demonstrated expertise and success in leading the development & execution of strategic/ tactical/measurement plans
  • Strong business acumen, problem solving, judgment & collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to uncover and apply insights
  • Demonstrated focus on advancing health equity through consumer activation
  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional alliance team members, even without direct reporting relationships
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage advertising and/or other agencies
