Director, Corporate Counsel - Market Access

We are seeking a Director, Corporate Counsel to join the Regulatory and Commercial Law Group.  This position will report to the Executive Director and Head of Market Access Legal and will provide legal support on a broad range of market access and other healthcare law issues.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare laws as they relate to market access issues such as patient support programs; field reimbursement teams; trade, GPO, PBM and payor relationships and contracts; medical and pharmacy benefit coverage and reimbursement; and drug pricing. The position will collaborate with internal clients and departments across Regeneron.

As a Director, Corporate Counsel a typical day may include:

• Develop a deep understanding of and stay current on healthcare laws and compliant industry practices as they apply to biopharmaceutical market access interests, such as:
  • Patient support programs
  • Field reimbursement activities
  • Drug pricing, including the 340b program
  • Arrangements with distributors, pharmacies, GPOs, PBMs, and payors
  • Medical and pharmacy benefit coverage and reimbursement, including under Medicare Parts B and D

• Counsel on a broad range of market access and healthcare coverage and reimbursement issues, including:
  • Patient support programs
  • Field reimbursement teams
  • Drug pricing, including the 340b program
  • Payor interactions and contracting
  • Distributor and specialty pharmacy interactions and contracting
  • GPO interactions and arrangements
  • PBM interactions and arrangements
  • Government contracting
  • Policy development and SOP reviews
  • Day-to-day counseling market access clients, including review of certain promotional materials, training materials, statements of work, and other contracts

• Assist with a broad range of other healthcare regulatory matters including advertising and promotion, funding requests, legal counsel to compliance, policy development, and client and vendor training.

• Ability to maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the client organizations.
• History of self-motivation, working independently on projects, meeting aggressive deadlines, and juggling multiple matters.

To be considered for this position you must possess a JD with 6+ years relevant legal experience. Licensed to practice law in New York or eligible for licensure as a registered in-house counsel. Prior in-house healthcare/pharmaceutical and/or biotech experience strongly preferred.

Significant knowledge of life sciences compliance trends, the FDCA, the False Claims Act, the Antikickback Statute, and other fraud and abuse laws.
