SummaryThis position has overall responsibility for supporting the development organization specifically in reporting for our CRO/CDx alliances, overview of contracts, and contract analytics. This position will work closely with various levels of management, cross-functional teams, R&D Finance & Procurement and external partners/vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Contract & Business Partnering Forecasting:
    Develop deep knowledge of the trends related to CRO/CDx contracting, partnering and related financials. Work closely with the business teams to be aware of the trends and evolving dynamics and identify future needs. Partner with vendors/CDx partners as the finance center of excellence.

    Own and facilitate the process of Clinical Research Organization (CRO)/ Companion Diagnostics (CDx) reporting (Annual Plan, Latest Estimates, other business requirements and/or Alliance forecasts), coordinate process by which forecast assumptions and results are reviewed and drive decision-making on forecast assumptions with stakeholders, including Alliance partners; track actual spend/milestone achievement relative to forecast, explain sources of variance.

  • Business Analytics & Business Development:
    Develop and maintain monthly/ quarterly/ annual/ business performance and analytics. Own and facilitate the discussion on various analytics and activities required to accurately and efficiently prepare overall, global view of CRO/CDx financials. Communicate forecasts, actuals and variance explanations to key team members, JOCs, and Sr. Management through standard monthly and quarterly reporting, or ad-hoc requests.

    Establishes or joins Joint Finance Committee meetings where overall relationship financials are reviewed and discussed. Partners with Procurement and/or Business Development and function owners to ensure routine review of contracts and financials happen jointly. Create and track KPIs to measure performance and milestone achievement.
    Provide guidance and strategic recommendations to Asset & Portfolio Management Finance compound leads and Sr. Leadership on performance, business risks and opportunities. Contribute to long range planning and drive continuous improvement of forecasting process.

    Establish standardization and process optimization to avoid silos and create one source of truth used by all functions in partnership with vendors & partners.

  • Controllership:
    Responsible for working globally to create dashboard/reports on spend by vendor by region and provide analytics that ensure sound contracting and procuring practices, ensuring volume discounts and savings are generated and standardization of contracts, where possible is occurring.
  • People Leadership:
    May lead a small team; Coach, motivate and develop staff to ensure high degree of service is maintained and staff remains focused on corporate goals and maintains a high level of engagement.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • Bachelor's Degree Finance/Accounting required

Experience Qualifications

  • 7 or More Years Finance & Accounting required
  • 7 or More Years Clinical Research Organization or Companion Diagnostics preferred
