Help drive the design, prototype, implementation, and scale of cloud data platforms to seek the business needs of GRAIL commercial products. Develop stream processing pipelines to help support our rapidly scaling clinical blood testing lab.

Develop batch processing pipelines that enable the scaling of ETL processes for the study data that backs GRAIL’s machine learning classifier development.

Build metadata services that enable search, discovery, and access control for GRAIL’s data infrastructure.





Cloud development:

• 5+ years minimum experience in Terraform and/or cloud formation template
• 3 years minimum experience in cloud automation using any one or more of the large cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure). Experience AWS is preferred than the other 2 providers.
• Comes from a software development background as this is a development role where the engineer will do hands-on coding using terraform.
• Experience with EC2, EKS, IAM, SCP, AWS Organizations, ControlTower, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, APIGateway, VPC, Route53, TGW
• Cloud security development experience is nice to have. Services in cloud security may include IAM, Cognito, Macie, AWS Config, Trusted Advisor

Container Management:

• Working experience with containers and orchestrators.
• Knows how to build and operate Docker containers – architecture, construction, and optimization
• Have experience with defining and managing applications that operate on orchestration platforms – Kubernetes, EKS
• Solid understanding of master to worker node communication and components.
• Helm chart experience for deployment

Certifications:

• Must have associate-level certification as a minimum in AWS through professional/specialty levels would be great.
• Certifications Areas may include: AWS DevOps Professional, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Networking Specialty
• Nice to have Kubernetes certification in CKAD, CKA, CKS
