POSITION SUMMARY

GreenLight Biosciences is looking for exceptional, highly motivated Research Associates to support drug product development in the space of mRNA delivery and stability in our Human Health business. The ideal candidate will support mainly activities related to formulation, process development and scaleup of delivery matrices for mRNA. .

The candidate will be part of the CMC team and will work closely with scientists and associates across CMC and R&D. The applicant should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment. The successful candidate will perform experiments, analyze data, and work on existing and innovative production processes for pharmaceuticals. The candidate will support INDs/BLAs with appropriate product and process data and characterization work, as needed.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform formulation & encapsulation studies and assays
  • Evaluate factors critical to scale up of the mRNA delivery matrices
  • Under the direction of a leadership, execute on DOE and data analysis, to evaluate performance of those novel delivery systems in complex matrices, including but not limited to LNP and mRNA stability. 
  • Critically review and analyze data, communicate results, and actively participate in group meetings. 
  • Work with scientists and research associates to execute scientific experiments, perform troubleshooting, conduct analyses, and report results
  • Participate in daily laboratory maintenance activities including ordering and maintaining stocks of lab reagents
  • Perform literature searches, participate in scientific discussions, and present research outcomes to stakeholders throughout the company
  • Support CMC Manufacturing efforts from the lab and with trouble shooting on the floor, as required.

EDUCATION

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines with 0-5 years of related industry experience. 

 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in aseptic handling techniques, spray drying or, lyophilization are desirable. 
  • Demonstrates creativity and problems solving skills. 
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Organized, detail oriented, self-starter who always seeks for improvements. 
  • Multitask and able to adjust workload based on shifting priorities. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
