As a Scientist at Navigate, you will design, create, execute, and troubleshoot new assay procedures and follow GCP/GLP/CLIA regulations to support clinical trial sample testing. While part of a highly collaborative team, you will be expected to exhibit moderate to high level of independence across multiple projects. Candidates must demonstrate critical thinking, initiative and clear communication during the execution of their projects.

Your responsibilities:
• Plan & execute laboratory research, assay validation, and testing of patient specimens using multiplex fluorescence immunohistochemistry staining and digital image analysis methods
• Analysis and QC of image data using software such as AQUA® Technology or HALO®
• Evaluate new technologies advancing the field of digital pathology
• Data report and data transfer using LIMS
• Perform instrument maintenance
• Following all GMP/GCP/GLP/CLIA regulations and ensure Quality Events are documented
• Authoring and reviewing technical documents such as work instructions, study protocols/reports and internal presentations.
• Collaborate cross functionally with colleagues on various projects as needed
• Using critical thinking skills, analyze data for trends making recommendations to more senior scientific staff.

This position will be located at the Carlsbad, CA site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

Minimum requirements What you will bring to the role:
1. PhD with minimum 0-2 years experience, MS with minimum of 4 years directly relevant experience or BS/BA with scientific emphasis with minimum of 8 years of directly relevant experience
2. Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards associated with analytical assay development/validation and/or sample testing in a laboratory setting
3. Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and core competences in immunohistochemistry and digital image analysis
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
5. Critical thinker and team player
