How You Will Achieve It
  • Manage own time and professional development, be accountable for own results and begin to prioritize own workflow.
  • Responsible for the preparation and/or operation of various components, materials, equipment, machines including, but not limited to any and/or all applicable components, materials, equipment, machines in the assigned area(s).
  • Complete adherence to all plant safety and (current) Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} regulations to the highest.
  • Assist with diagnosis and troubleshooting activities and execute in-process quality inspections.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of parts and materials prior to initiating a production run.
  • Identify and seek to implement process and safety improvement and perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Participate in shift meetings, provide hand off information and communicate with other units and shifts.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Production Operator II may perform any combination of the following: Operate, tend, monitor, service, changeovers, make minor/major adjustments, assemble, disassemble, clean and sterilize one or more of a variety of production related equipment in compliance with equipment, product and process cGMP's and safety/security regulations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs necessary machine set-up, operation, changeover, adjustment, diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance on production equipment. Some activities may require work prior to and after normal shift or overtime.
  • Provides recommendation and plan of action to the supervisor on the needed repair of the equipment.
  • Responsible for minimizing production line down time and maximizing efficiencies.
  • Documents all maintenance performed through the use of the work order system and maintenance log books.
  • Communicates openly and clearly with line personnel and supervision to accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Follow SOPs, cGMPs, batch records, TCPs, BOMs, POPs.
  • Notify Group Leader/PES/Supervisor of all safety issues.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Senior Production Operator and have completed SPO II – III Primary and Maintenance Assessment
  • Must possess necessary mechanical skills to perform the required machine set-up, repairs and adjustments in order to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Computer (PC) experience plus knowledge of Word, Excel is helpful.
  • Must be able to read and write as well as follow and provide written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to gown aseptically and retain certification regardless of the assigned area.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to inks, solvents, heat, steam and liquids.
  • Stay current with training requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with others
  • Must demonstrate leadership, self-motivated, able to work independently and have a problem-solving mindset.
  • Exceptional skills troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing packaging equipment, labelers and fillers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior mechanical/refrigeration repair experience preferred.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Vision must be correctable to 20/20.
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment drawings.
  • Requires continuous physical activity for repair, adjustment and operation of equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some production areas present exposure to heat, steam and liquids. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance is required.
