Job Title:  Manager, Client Development 

We are seeking a Manager, Client Development to join the Forge Biologics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth gene therapy manufacturing company to help grow and support new and existing clients. The candidate will work directly with our Marketing, Technical Sales, and the Client Relations teams to advance Forge’s internal and external business strategy. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison with clients - developing long-term relationships, providing guidance and advice, and ensuring all customer needs are met.  This position can be Columbus based or work remotely.



  • Strategically identify, pursue, and grow business with new and existing clients
  • Work cross functionally with Marketing, Technical Sales, and Client Relations teams to develop client engagement strategies 
  • Develop strong relationships with clients to thoroughly understand their needs
  • Build and drive sales pipeline
  • Work collaboratively with production and support staff to ensure client expectations are achieved and/or exceeded
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining CRM system
  • Plan and attend trade shows, conferences, and participate in relevant industry group events
  • Travel expected 30-40% of time 


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to flourish in a start-up environment
  • Intelligent, highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Biology (or life sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in life science sales, pharmaceutical sales, biotech or CDMO industries preferred, with expertise in gene/cell therapy preferred
  • Proven and consistent track record of executing against aggressive growth strategies and delivering sales results in excess of expectations
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects, work proficiently with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Experience collaborating in a cross-functional team environment
  • Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office
