The Facilities Specialist primary role is to administratively manage the on-time establishment of Maintenance contracts, agreements and purchase orders to all vendors providing maintenance services to the Canton site. Reporting quarterly financial metrics of Maintenance activities for the Canton site. Provides annual vendor/contractor performance evaluations for the department.
The secondary role of the Facility Specialist shall assist with updating SAP CMMS with all closing information for the technical completion of work orders. The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the management of site gowning in coordination with selected and approved vendors. The Facilities Specialist assists with vendor qualifications related to department programs.
This position reports to and supports the Facilities Resource Planning Manager in support of efficient, effective, and reliable operation of all systems and equipment. This position will have interactions with Manufacturing Science and Technology, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Outside Contractors/Consultants.
The ability to multi-task, evaluate, and prioritize work pertaining to site-wide maintenance is critical to the success of this role and the Maintenance Department. A high level of organization is required for this role. The GMP production environment requires attention to the details and accuracy within good documentation practices. The focus to create and maintain a safety culture that is proactive and striving for zero injuries is of the utmost importance and an expectation for all employees. The Facilities Specialist can influence and impact the site service maintenance budget with the recommendations/decisions that are made in planning the work to repair and/or replace equipment and building services.
• Negotiate, create, and maintain facilities services contracts and agreements.
• Process preventative maintenance documentation in the global SAP ERP platform using cGMP documentation practices.
• Scheduling, planning and maintenance event communications.
• Manage site gowning operations.
• Maintain departmental accounting operations.
• Perform various SAP functions for Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Task List revisions.
• Schedule contracted service providers to perform repairs to systems, equipment or building services.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable rules and regulations of Emergent and the Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry. This includes FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, and Environmental Safety and Health and company regulations.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, respectful relationship with internal cross-functional customers; maintain a positive feedback/customer satisfaction rating.
