We are seeking an experienced leader to head the newly formed New Target Interrogation group. This high-profile position will manage a dynamic, fast-paced group of approximately 30 scientists and collaborate with members of the Regeneron Genomics Center (RGC) and members of Regeneron’s diverse therapeutic focus areas (TFA) to identify novel drug targets.  

 

In this role, a typical day may include: 

  • Working in an innovation driven, highly collaborative and fast paced environment. 

  • Working with multiple groups simultaneously across multiple disease areas to prioritize targets. 

  • Designing and executing target validation studies employing in vitro and in vivo models.

  • Ensuring that scientific rigor and innovation drives target validation approaches.

  • Providing sound strategic guidance to meet the timelines for target validation.

  • Identifying the key partners across Regeneron, ensuring they are engaged and aligned with the New Target Interrogation group’s experimental goals and Giving presentations of data to audiences with various backgrounds and levels.  

  • Developing & maintaining productive relationships with individuals at various career levels across the company. 

 

This role may be for you if you:

  • Have a solid track record managing a research team focused on drug discovery.

  • Are able to effectively balance multiple projects independently and across groups.

  • Are an excellent team management, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Have a broad interest across many therapeutic areas.

 

To be considered for this role you must have a PhD in biological sciences with 12+ years of “progressive” professional experience. We need someone with a deep understanding of human genetics, experience with genetically engineered rodent models, experience developing in vitro assays, and broad knowledge across multiple areas of human disease. You should have experience in driving target validation approaches and demonstration of critical thinking. Knowledge of various targeting modalities such as antibodies, viral delivery and oligonucleotides is highly desired.
