Job Details

Molecular Templates is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of differentiated, targeted, biologic therapeutics. Our proprietary biologic drug platform technology, known as engineered toxin bodies, or ETBs, leverages the resident biology of a genetically engineered form of Shiga-like Toxin A subunit to create novel therapies with potent and differentiated mechanisms of action for cancer and other serious diseases.  MTEM currently has multiple clinical-stage ETB candidates in development including MT-5111, MT-0169, and MT-6402.  Additional preclinical compounds derived from our ETB platform technology are being advanced toward clinical development. Position Overview: 

 

 

The Laboratory Assistant will primarily perform laboratory housekeeping duties, such as glassware cleaning and sterilization and waste disposal. The ideal candidate must be available to work part-time approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This position will require excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to follow verbal and written instruction, plus ability to prioritize tasks.
 

Job Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Collect, wash, clean and sterilize used glassware, equipment and supplies using proper sterilization techniques
  • Distribute and maintain glassware in laboratories
  • Prepare media and solutions per established guidelines
  • Stock and maintain laboratory supplies
  • Sterilize and conduct waste disposal using autoclave
  • Maintain cleanliness of the general laboratory including bench sanitization and wipe down
  • Conduct and document basic maintenance of equipment such as temperature monitoring, water changes, and occasional defrosting
  • Attend and participate in group meetings as available
  • Complete additional tasks or projects, as needed

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​High school diploma or equivalent, required; Associates degree, preferred
  • Relevant experience in laboratory setting with experience with glassware sterilization techniques, preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and work under supervision
  • Ability to follow safety protocol at all times
  • Ability to demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to pass and clear a criminal background check

 

Reporting Structure:

 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to the onsite Lab Supervisor.
