SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, IT PMO (Remote)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a driven self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to manage aggressive timelines, competing priorities, and challenging stakeholders. This Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the IT PMO by leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more business units. This role will manage resources, schedules, and financials throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Senior Project Manager, IT PMO will contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the end-to-end project or program lifecycle for multiple complex initiatives, and meet the required business objectives with minimal supervision
  • Works closely with business functions and ensure alignment to timelines, cost and deliverables
  • Creates and motivates cross-functional & cross-departmental project teams, establishes roles and responsibilities, provides direction, fosters effective team skills, and ensures that project objectives are reached on time and within budget
  • Identifies the need for and creates/implements improvements to continuously improve the Project Management service capabilities in the organization
  • Demonstrates effective Project Management skills through the development of project plans, resource allocation, plan execution, consistent communications with project team members and stakeholders, status reviews, and delivery of agreed upon results
  • Ability to deal with unstructured, complex Projects or Programs that will require effective communication and negotiation skills in order to define and gain agreement on appropriate actions
  • Delivers cost-effective, high quality Projects or Programs on-time through application of PM guidelines and standards (best practices) and effective controls while meeting requisite compliance requirements (Sarbanes-Oxley, GxP etc.)
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all communications within IT, Business teams, and any third party involved in the Project or Program - effectively communicates relevant information to key stakeholders as per defined Communications plan
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with team members
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members to complete tasks on time
  • Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of project management experience with complex projects in Biotech/Pharma
  • Experience managing GxP and SOX projects
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate ideas
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study desired
