Leadership Development Program Manager - Operations (Remote)

This role can be performed remotely, but candidates must be willing to work the appropriate time zone.

Are you passionate about talent development? Amgen is seeking a talented Human Resources professional as the program manager for a new leadership development program that is part of a portfolio of Operations leadership development programs. This new program will be focused on executives in Operations. This role will also provide interim support for the Emerging Talent Rotational Program (ETRP).


Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be accountable for a new leadership development program that is part of Operations FUEL Your Potential (FUEL) program portfolio. This program is currently in development and will likely include development assessments, coaching,and structured learning for Operations executives, ultimately providing participants with purposefulexperiences and development opportunities to support themon their continued journey to leadership excellence. You will serve as the program lead for this new executive-level FUEL program. In the future, this role may also support other aspects of FUEL as we explore how to expand the reach of the FUEL programs. This role reports into the Human Resources Senior Manager Operations FUEL Programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of the FUEL executive-level program. This includes program design; participant nominations and selection; coaching and supportingparticipants; coordination and execution of program activities; partnership with our third-party vendor partners; reporting & program metrics; and end-to-end participant care

  • Partner with the Operations Executive Leadership Team, functional and site lead Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), and other business leaders to ensure the program is designed to address current and future leadership needs and evolve in accordance with changing business priorities

  • Provide regular updates to executive-level governance committees responsible for the FUEL programs

  • Oversee the relationship with third party vendor partners who support program design and implementation

  • Continuously improve the design and management of the program; evolve program standards and business processes

  • Identify and continuously monitor meaningful measures to assess program effectiveness and business impact

  • Manage the financials associated with the program, including purchase orders, invoices, and budget forecasting and reconciliation to Finance Partners

  • Maintain program-related resources

  • Partner with the Human Resources Learning and Development team, the Operations functional Learning & Performance team, FUEL Program Leads, and other key stakeholders to ensure tight alignment of systems and processes

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Masters degree and 2 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience
Bachelors degree and 4 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience
Associates degree and 10 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with executive leadership development programs highly preferred

  • Experience in human resources, career development, learning, and/or leadership development role

  • Experience with executive coaching

  • Experience with curriculum development / training design

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with experience managing large, global projects

  • Strong executive presence, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact, influence and build relationships with all levels of staff, management, and executives

  • Demonstrated ability to understand the clients needs and translate them into actions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working across functions and geographies and in a matrixed organization

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of how to use data to inform program design

  • Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
