Position Description

The Head of Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading the Talent Acquisition team, designing strategies to source and attract top candidates globally, and implementing best practices that result in successful hires. The incumbent will be responsible for building a robust talent pipeline, delivering a best-in-class candidate experience, improving operational recruitment processes, and strengthening our employer brand. The Head of Talent Acquisition will build strong partnerships throughout the company, with a strong focus on delivering meaningful, best practice approaches to the company's talent management practices. This role is responsible for leveraging technology to streamline the talent acquisition process, resulting in qualified candidates and positive new hire experiences.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall Talent Acquisition strategy and performance objectives.
  • Lead, develop and provide guidance to the talent acquisition team, to enhance their skills and optimize results.
  • Provide leadership for building out a hiring brand that meets the current and future talent needs of the company.
  • Develop creative key strategies and initiatives for recruiting diverse talent through various channels including, but not limited to social media, industry, employee referrals, professional networks, and universities.
  • Support acquisition activity to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the acquisition and onboarding cycle.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency of candidate acquisition strategy, company culture, and recruiting best practices.
  • Lead vendor management for Talent Acquisition to ensure that current and future investments are optimized for the recruiting function.
  • Lead the development of talent pipelines and programs to ensure the growth of talent pools to support the needs of the business.
  • Lead, guide and develop a team of qualified recruitment professionals, including managing team capacity and requisition allocation to ensure all hiring goals are achieved and time-to fill vacancies is minimized.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment for senior level, niche, and ex-US roles.
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with hiring managers, leaders, and executives to advise on best practices, key hiring decisions and workforce planning.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications team to develop and enhance the employment branding positioning.
  • Work closely with leadership and HR on key talent initiatives to grow internal bench strength.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to meet the changing needs of the talent acquisition function and work to remove barriers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Develop department training initiatives that support hiring best practices.
  • Use data to develop and analyze key metrics to understand and improve recruiting effectiveness, accountability, and performance measurements.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelors' Degree or relevant years of industry recruiting experience required
  • 10 plus years progressive Life Sciences recruiting experience highly preferred
  • Ability to proactively source + attract passive talent in the industry through multiple methods and channels
  • In depth knowledge of full cycle recruiting and employer branding techniques
  • Ability to think outside the box. Demonstrated expertise at partnering cross-functionally with senior leadership to drive consensus decisions
  • Excellent interviewing skills with ability to screen for both general and team fit
  • Strong consultative and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, as well as externally
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Employment policies would be highly advantageous
  • Experience with ATS, sourcing and recruiting marketing tools is a must
