Summary

The purpose of the Senior Analyst, Global Oncology Competitive Intelligence is to execute competitive intelligence studies and including analytics for our oncology products. This position will work closely with the Senior Director, Global Oncology Competitive Intelligence during both the pre & post launch commercialization phases in support of the Global Oncology BU in order to maximize the value (sales and profit) for the company and patients.The senior analyst provides the product team and the organization with data and analyses to support high quality business decisions. Using sound CI and analysis skills, as well as strong critical thinking, the senior analyst supports product team in strategic decisions and in program and promotional development work. In addition, the senior analyst tracks, analyzes and reports on performance and its drivers, as well as identify key opportunities for growth. Overall, the senior analyst conducts analysis involving competitors, sales, customer preferences, economic conditions, advertising, distribution, and other factors that may influence future sales of in-line products and evaluates data and makes recommendations based on findings.

Responsibilities
  • Execute oncology CI projects in support of brand objectives. Develop coherent summaries of the CI and share with appropriate stakeholders to support the execution of key business initiatives.
    Project-manage, oversee and supervise the design and implementation of comprehensive CI research using outside MR vendors. Analyze results of the studies and provide actionable, relevant conclusions and recommendations to internal customers (i.e., marketing, sales, other inter-departments).
  • Execute analysis of secondary data sources to support decision making and to enable the execution of key business initiatives.
    Analyze and integrate CI into actionable recommendations for strategic and tactical plans. Leverage data to prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, assessing the current product and competitive market for assigned products. The reports will focus on providing insights to drive strategic and tactical decisions for the OBU portfolio.
  • Provide input into CI plan study designs and the best research technique(s) to utilize for projects.
    Develop functional excellence by striving to learn about “best practices” in CI and business analytics across industries. Maintain high level of proficiency and understanding of currently available data sources, analytic techniques and CI agency capabilities to ensure the selection of agencies and products that provide Daiichi Sankyo with optimal value for our budget investment.
  • Support Sr. Director, CI in the development of the CI plan as part of the annual strategic and tactical planning process for late stage & approved oncology products.
    Manage business analytic relationships with co-development / co-promote partners.
  • Develop and maintain product performance reports for launched products. Measure and track brand performance against key performance metrics. Communicate results to senior management.
    Develop and maintain competitive intelligence dashboards and work with MR and Brands in different tumor types to determine their needs.
    Integrate CI into marketing plans, POA meetings, and other strategic decisions.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree Business Administration or other advanced degree preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • 1 or More Years progressive pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • 1 or More Years pharmaceutical industry experience in CI, market research, market analytics or new product planning preferred
  • Experience working with and presenting market and market research data. preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally to achieve desired business results. preferred
  • Experience working with outside vendors. preferred
