Summary Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Senior Manager, Sales Training – Women’s Health with the option to be located either remote or at our Brisbane office. The position will report into the Director, Commercial Training & Development, and will ensure Commercial field teams are effectively trained on product and clinical knowledge that reflects the needs of marketing, medical, legal, and compliance requirements via pre/live/post training programs. The position will lead sales training activities including design, development and execution of training programs new hire training, development programs for desired competencies, new product launches, competitive product launches and developing initiatives for sales meetings (launch meetings, National Sales Meetings, POA meetings etc.).  The Sr. Sales Training Manager will also collaborate with the Marketing and Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Compliance, IT and other cross functional partners in the development and implementation of comprehensive learning solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to build and execute training initiatives and programs that support the success of our Women’s Health Sales Teams.
  • Manage the development and execution of foundational training including Product, Clinical, and Skills Training Curriculum for assigned brand(s).
  • Develop and facilitate training workshops and related activities associated with promoting and maintaining brand strategies and tactics.
  • Ensure quality delivery of training by partnering with Marketing, Sales and other commercial and cross functional teams to develop and execute the training strategy in the field using a variety of tactics (live and virtual facilitation, Train the Trainers, Peer-based teaching/Regional Trainers, etc) and technologies.
  • Partner with brand teams to ensure selling messages are effectively conveyed. Must be able to effectively respond to changes in brand labelling, sales campaigns and materials, competitor activity and market events to provide continued reinforcement of product training.
  • Partner with the marketing teams and Director of Commercial Training to embed product training into New Hire Training curriculum, including the design, production, implementation, coordination and evaluation of all product/clinical skills training activities relating to new hire training workshops. Ensure materials are up to date and approved through the Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review process.
  • Selling skills training – Identify opportunities to improve on competencies supporting the implementation of Myovant Sciences sales approach. Consistently execute the Myovant sales approach in all training materials developed, inclusive of new hire and on-going training.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Sales to identify field training needs.  Recommend and develop training solutions to address identified training needs.
  • Lead and participate in the development of on-going training (all formats) for reps regarding ways to effectively enhance their product/clinical knowledge, product selling messages, and selling skills.
  • Develop and administer training programs and methods to ensure clinical and product knowledge with the field teams (certifications etc.)
  • Create innovative training solutions to include materials in multi-media formats and invest in continuous improvement of training materials and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance to ensure training initiatives meet cross functional requirements
  • Forecast and manage the budget with utilized vendors

Core Competencies

  • Strong experience in sales training and sales in the pharma/biotech industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand brand strategy and tactics and effectively translate into training initiatives
  • Experience and knowledge of compliance rules and regulations governing training programs
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead process from initiation to implementation
  • Able to operate effectively independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong partnerships with cross functional partners
  • Ability to oversee and manage external vendors to ensure high quality deliverables and service
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and embrace change in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment
  • Strive for continuous improvement and embrace innovative ideas in daily work

 Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Senior Manager requires a minimum of 8-10 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6-8 years with a master’s degree.
  • Sales experience in the biotech/pharma industry a plus; Previous product launch experience a plus
  • Strong communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead meetings, both internally and externally, virtually and in-person classrooms for instructor-led training (ILT) with excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating with cross functional partners including supporting the Sales and Marketing Leadership teams
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment: Understands legal and compliance issues facing a biotech/pharmaceutical organization; has worked extensively with Sales Management, Legal, Regulatory and Marketing and has the ability to develop relationships quickly and credibly; Experience with Veeva PromoMats preferred
  • Understands both field-based and internal employee job responsibilities. Proven ability to accurately interpret customer needs and translate these into a coherent program of work based on area of responsibility
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of change and ambiguity; with flexibility and readiness
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in the end-to-end learning process, i.e., learning needs assessment, program design and delivery, and learning evaluation and assessment with focus on Adult Learning Principles
  • Ability to travel (roughly 25% of time depending on organizational needs) for Sales related meetings and in-field training initiatives. Location near a major airport preferred.
