Who You Are

The Senior Accountant is an integral part of a growing accounting team and oversees the general ledger accounting close process (e.g., fixed assets, debt, accrual, etc.). This position is an individual contributor and currently reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. This position requires interaction with various business units and vendor contacts. A successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment is result-oriented, analytical, have solid attention to detail, and is highly motivated to deliver excellence in their work consistently.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly accounting for general ledger-assigned accounts to ensure accurate and timely completion of fixed assets, debt, and interest
  • Prepare journal entries and related supporting work papers. Ensure quality of work products and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Manage the Fixed Assets module to ensure assets are adequately capitalized, retired, and run depreciation monthly
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations, roll forward schedules and other ad hoc requested schedules/analyses
  • Prepare fluctuation analysis for assigned accounts
  • Prepare 10Q/10K tie-out for the Debt and Restructuring footnotes
  • Prepare audit and tax requested schedules and address follow-up items
  • Collaborate, liaise and assist other accounting team members as needed
  • Compliance with SOX requirements—ensure control procedures are executed and work paper documentation is SOX compliant; prepare all necessary data and analysis to support external audit, internal control, and SOX testing requests, among others


Education, Experience & Skills Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in accounting
  • Certified public accountant
  • Degree in accounting. CPA preferred.
  • 4+ years of general accounting or audit-related experience
  • Biotech experience is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong work ethic, including sound judgment, outstanding interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently
  • Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Results and detailed-oriented mindset with an opportunistic eye towards process improvements
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate (oral and written) effectively
  • High sense of urgency and ability to identify creative solutions to advanced, time-sensitive problems by balancing achievement of process objectives with practical considerations.
  • A high degree of organizational agility, able to handle sensitive issues with prudent discretion across all levels of the organization
  • Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm and effective under pressure
