Join GRAIL’s existing security team to build security into all areas of our software/product development, and ongoing operations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Clinical, Lab, and Commercial Operations to continually enhance our security strategy and define project road maps. You will be in a position to assist the engineering team in building new tools and automation systems to help detect cancer.
Functional Duties:
  • Augment the security team in evaluating current and proposed software designs, network infrastructure to assess security risk, as well as propose and implement solutions.
  • Support security operations such as vulnerability management, incident response, and investigations.
  • Develop technical solutions to minimize security risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CxO, engineering teams, clinical teams, R&D, commercial teams, etc) to develop best practices.
  • Be an advocate for protecting user data and privacy.

Required skills:
  • 12+ years working in a software engineering related area (development,
  • QA, Systems Architecture, Systems Administration, etc) with at least 5 years working in a security subject area (Incident Response, Application Security, Pentesting, Risk/Compliance, etc.)
  • Strong Python coding skills
  • Significant AWS, Azure, or Google cloud experience.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/UDP, SSL/TLS, IPSec, etc.
  • Deep understanding of security principles including encryption, authentication, etc.
  • Be curious and driven to learn new technology and science.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction!
  • Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques!
