The Preclinical Histology Core is seeking a creative, collaborative, detail oriented, and highly organized individual to join the team! This work will take place in a core facility using groundbreaking histotechnologies, automation at major workflow steps, imaging instruments, and software.

We are looking for a candidate who will work closely with members of the team to deliver high quality, meticulous, and unbiased experimental data, interpretations, and novel methods in support of Regeneron’s diverse therapeutic programs.  

In this role, a typical day may include:  

• Independent design and execution of experiments planned with the histology group and requesting therapeutic group. 

• Selection, screening, optimization and validation of antibodies, RNAScope and BaseScope probes.

• Develop and drive histology-based assays including immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), in-situ hybridization (ISH, e.g. RNAScope), IF multiplex panels, and specialized histochemical stains using stainers like Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond, or Leica Spectra.

• Use of histological techniques including grossing, fixation, decalcification, embedding, for both paraffin and cryo sectioning of animal samples.

• Lab operations including organization and order of materials and reagents required for studies and maintenance of histology equipment, as well as online and physical records of data.

• Creation of expert-level written reports and verbal communications to peers, management, and large groups.

• Working closely with team members to coordinate and troubleshoot multiple experiments, accommodate changing priorities and timelines, and provide updates on the progress of projects.

• Shown history of designing, executing, and reporting histology experiments in a timely and independent manner. 

• Strong communication and social skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project within a team-first environment. 

• Exceptional attention to detail, and due diligence in project execution.  

• A passion for biology and helping others and a dedication to share, collaborate, and lift up others.

To be considered for this role, you must have minimum of a Bachelor degree in science and 4 years of histology experience. Extensive expertise with antibody validation, robotic staining (Leica Bond, Ventana) and IF panels is highly desired. We need someone who has a solid knowledge in basic mouse anatomy. Experience with pathology assessments and multiplexing is a plus.

You should be able to multitask and have a collaborate attitude.
