Senior Systems Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Forge Biologics IT team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth, cloud-first, gene therapy manufacturing and therapeutics development company located in Columbus, Ohio. This position will be instrumental in designing, operating, and scaling a Microsoft-centric cloud-first environment providing top shelf security, reliability, and performance.

• Design, implement, and oversee enterprise cloud-first infrastructure in accordance with industry best practices and internal requirements
• Owner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the Microsoft 365/Azure cloud presence; staying abreast of new developments
• Coordinate with cGMP teams for biotech manufacturing IT needs 
• Ensure reliable and compliant backups and disaster recovery (DR) plans
• Responsible for security incident detection and response
• Collaborate with IT team and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to:
• Maintain detailed up-to-date documentation of networks and systems
• Assist in the implementation and meeting of compliance/regulatory requirements

• Six or more years’ experience in relevant IT roles including at least three cloud centric
• Expertise and at least three years’ experience with Microsoft’s cloud stack: M365/O365, Intune, Azure AD, Defender, Azure hosting, etc.
• Proficiency with typical WAN/LAN/WLAN systems and technologies
• Experience with or the ability to quickly learn:
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant additional experience
• Experience in a regulated (eg, FDA, GxP, HIPAA) environment or in biotech manufacturing is a plus.
