Senior Category Manager, Media US - Remote

What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will responsible for the US and OUS Media services spend (i.e. media strategy, planning and buying, TV and non-TV working media placement, SEO, SEM, Paid Search, Social Media, etc.).

  • Designs and develops multi-year category sourcing strategy across the Media category in alignment with stakeholder annual / multi-year plans
  • Builds a pipeline of category projects/transformational ideas as the global lead in collaboration with relevant GSS regional / category peers and key customers
  • Defines the global roadmap for Media services sourcing
  • Identifies possibilities for budget and operations process improvements driving efficiencies, and develops the business case for change
  • Demonstrates connected thinking and strategy beyond the category with pull through in understanding how Media services are used in Amgen (i.e. Public relations, multicultural marketing, data and analytics)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Category Management experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of Category Management experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of Category Management experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of Category Management experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Category Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of procurement/sourcing/category management methodology and able to drive value for customers using the right sourcing levers
  • Track record in establishing strong SOW/SLAs and ensuring supplier performance
  • Broad knowledge of the market forces shaping a customers business context (e.g. supplier base, legal & regulatory environment, sources of competitive advantage)
  • Ability to conduct benchmarking to address cost, quality, risk and innovation considerations
  • Ability to provide thought leadership, ability to influence and actively shape strategy
  • A sourcing expert with strong financial acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying root causes to issues and problem-solving organizational needs
