The Company's current area of research focus is Urological disease.  Urovant Sciences is currently investigating treatments for OAB in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), as well as an earlier stage gene-therapy for OAB in patients who have failed oral pharmacologic therapy.  Urovant Sciences, a subsidiary of Sumitovant Biopharma Ltd., intends to develop novel treatments for additional urologic diseases. Position Description

Lead international alliance management activities with Urovant Commercial Partners and Distributors to ensure growth of the company's enterprise value. Focus on maximizing the commercial value of Urovant Sciences' commercial asset. Work with selected partners to ensure Urovant products are branded and distributed according to the Company's standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead international Urovant Sciences alliance management activities
  • Contribute to the Urovant Sciences Strategic Alliance strategy
  • Lead international Urovant Sciences alliance management activities, including secretary functions for executive governing bodies in conjunction with Alliance partner, to ensure partnership priorities outside of the US are well executed and resourced
  • Responsible of setting and managing the governance of international commercial alliances
  • Responsible for contract review and implementation, including interpretation of contractual agreements (in conjunction with legal counsel) and management of associated contractual obligations. Identifies risks, pre-empts issues and facilitates conflict resolution. Manages the escalation processes to resolve disagreements and disputes with the partner as they arise. Ensures appropriate record keeping for key Alliance documents as required by the agreements.
  • Manage the external relationships with key partners to ensure Urovant Sciences' products are brough to market as quickly as possible whilst remaining compliant and competitive
  • Where applicable, partner with Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Third Party Vendor and other key stakeholders to ensure that the sales representatives promoting Urovant products have all relevant information to ensure regulatory compliance and ethical sales and are aligned to product strategy
  • Ensure that all appropriate information is being exchanged with the parent company and/or any commercial partner promoting Urovant products.
  • Primary point of contact for licencees and distributors regarding the data they use to manage their business on a day-to-day basis.
  • Trouble shoot any issues that arise from external partnerships
  • Where applicable responsible for field targeting and call planning, alignments, commercial alliance tasks, Ad Hoc analyses and triage and track field data questions.
  • Business development support
  • Support search and evaluation of potential BD opportunities (new asset in-license/acquisition and out-licensing activities)
  • Support scouting and selecting appropriate partners for Urovant in close collaboration with management team.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional teams, support negotiations with selected strategic partners.
  • Execute other ad hoc projects or job duties assigned

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS (business, legal, finance or life sciences discipline is a plus); MBA or other relevant graduate-level degree preferred
  • 10+ years of biotech/pharma experience with at least 5+ years in a similar alliance management position with a biotech, pharmaceutical company or CRO.
  • A proven track record of successfully planning and implementing launch of the alliance
  • Demonstrated results in achieving sales and alliance management goals against annual growth targets.
  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams across multiple time-zones including channel marketing and product management.
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated expertise in biopharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to think strategically and operationally
  • Proven ability to solve complex business problems with significant ambiguity
  • Excellent judgment and ability to make independent decisions
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work independently and successfully in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships and influence without direct authority
  • Ability to travel for business

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of both first party data and third party syndicated data in the healthcare space, as well as working knowledge of CRM, SFA, and call planning workflows.
  • Deep understanding of legal and compliance risks surrounding field force deployment and targeting is a must-have.
