The Associate Director, Development Portfolio Analytics will enable the Development Portfolio Analytics team to develop, refine and maintain robust portfolio forecasting and reporting capabilities to aid in enterprise-wide portfolio decision making. This role will ensure the timely and accurate flow of portfolio related information between Program Teams and leadership. The Associate Director will enable the consolidation of periodic portfolio reporting and coordinate communication of portfolio and operational performance status across functional and divisional groups. This role will assist in the development of new and enhanced capabilities to carry out portfolio benchmarking and competitive analysis in order to measure operational performance of the Development Portfolio.

Job duties:
  • Contribute to center of excellence for key portfolio level analytics with insightful data outputs.
  • Develop performance measures, analytics and data visualizations to generate evidence and business insights to enable operational efficiency, optimal decision-making and targeted communications to partners.
  • In collaboration with Development Portfolio Analytics Lead carry out competitive analysis, benchmarking, and primary and secondary research to understand industry standard methodologies
  • Effectively use metrics and data visualization to report progress and support data-driven decision-making at the team or organization level. Build and create report/dashboard to support the decision-making process
  • Develop models for near-long term portfolio planning and forecasting in the 3Y/5Y horizon.
  • Utilize key performance indicators to provide business insights and analytics to enable operational efficiency and efficient decision-making.
  • Ensure high level of precision in Portfolio reporting
  • Advise and strategize with functional, financial and portfolio leaders to establish metrics and set appropriate performance targets.
  • Assist project teams with all phases of the project lifecycle - from initiation and chartering to deployment and project closure. Support and lead cross-functional asset teams in preparation for portfolio reviews and governance body reviews
  • Utilize Data Visualization and Analytical software to produce a suite of metrics and analytics.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Development systems and DO&PM functional leads to ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Foster and environment for continuous improvement and innovation in analytics and reporting.
Job requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a BS in a related discipline; A MS or MBA is highly desirable. At least 10 years of industry experience within the pharma/biotech, a CRO or consulting in the industry is required. Additionally, 5+ years of functional experience and leadership is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of understanding all operational processes required to deliver a clinical development program from first-in-human to post-approval
  • Strong cross-functional matrix leadership experience with proven ability to establish strong partnerships without formal authority
  • Extensive experience in performance metrics and reporting, analytics, goal setting, and balanced score cards associated with clinical trial planning, management and execution.
  • Ability to translate complex business questions and requirements and develop effective solutions
