Job Details
We are looking for someone to be responsible for using environmental engineering principles to manage numerous projects and implement systems to ensure Regeneron’s compliance with environmental regulations in accordance with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, etc. Under the direct supervision of the EH&S Manager and by successfully working multi-functionally within Real Estate and Facilities Management and across R&pD, the Sr. Environmental Engineer will apply their strong understanding of environmental engineering practices and will be responsible for the coordination, management, and/or implementation of environmental permits and management systems.
A typical day might include:- Collect data, perform field verifications, develop drawings, and perform calculations needed to apply for regulatory permits such as local, state, and federal emission permits, stormwater or wastewater discharge permits, and other similar permits
- Perform calculations and analysis needed for regulatory reporting
- Create thorough and accurate environmental reports for internal and external use, such as but not limited to Title V, NYSERDA LLRW, SPCC Plans, Tier II reports, air, water, and waste permit applications, etc.
- Liase with regulatory agencies on environmental compliance and permitting
- Evaluate current systems and collaborate with partners to design innovative ways to improve or replace the existing systems or processes
- Create new processes to solve problems and increase efficiency including improving waste management system designs
- Perform company environmental audits, prepare written reports, and report findings
- Provides engineering oversight of projects, alterations, repairs, and installations related to environmental compliance to identify and manage environmental permitting responsibilities. Provides solutions and action plans as needed.
- Participates in planning, development, designs, and coordination of environmental system upgrades, repairs, alterations, installations and participates in project management teams
- Works with external contractors and consultants as necessary
- Available 24/7 for assistance and emergency response. Participates on Regeneron’s Haz-Mat response team.
- Support Corporate Responsibility in the data collection and review of public disclosures and ESG scoring
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge and proven application of environmental engineering fundamentals and regulations
- Strong Mathematical and Project Management Skills
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook, power point, etc.)
- Technical understanding in building operations systems and utilities
- Must be able to lead people and direct workflow

Minimal educational requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
Required Licenses & Certificates:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 5 years of experience in an Environmental Engineering role
