HYBRID Work Arrangement - This role is considered a hybrid position that is within a commutable driving distance to the Summit, New Jersey office to work onsite 1-2 days per week and attend occasional in person meetings / events as required.

Assigned Brand:

FLUCELVAX QUADRIVALENT is the first-and-only cell-based flu vaccine in the US for patients 6 months and older.  Not all flu vaccines are made the same way. Cell-based manufacturing is a different production process compared to traditional, egg-based manufacturing. As the largest cell-based influenza vaccine manufacturer in the world, Seqirus is on the very edge of this technology.

Job Summary:

As the brand ambassador, the Associate Director, US Brand Marketing leads the execution of the differentiation strategy and drives the development of the strategic plan for the assigned brands within the Commercial Operations – North America organization. Additionally, there are numerous undefined challenges in the US market that requires extensive investigation and analysis to develop new and effective offering for the US market and the Associate Director, US Brand Marketing is responsible for identification and development of such offerings. Working with the Sr. Director of Marketing, Director of US Product / Brand Marketing, the Associate Director proactively engages and collaborates with a cross-functional team, which includes but is not limited to: Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Health Economics, Policy, I&T, Comms and Training in the development of brand positioning and messaging, and the execution of the strategic plan in the US market.

Major Responsibilities:

Develop, lead, and execute the brand strategy

  • Owns and drives the brand planning process for the given brand (SI/KI/Objectives/Tactics) to shape near and long-term brand direction

  • Responsible for the definition, identification, and implementation of marketing strategies and programs for large and complex project initiatives

  • Develop deep market insights on the market and competitors to make recommendations and decisions for optimal brand management to drive sales and pull through

  • Owns the US extended brand team to assure alignment and execution of the strategic plan

Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategies and tactics are linked to the achievement of critical brand strategic imperatives

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cross-functional execution of brand strategy with all US key stakeholders, including sales, customer marketing, customer operations, market access, medical affairs, policy, communications, Health Economics, regulatory, legal, and compliance.

  • Be the brand champion and effectively communicate brand strategy outside of own functional area to gain alignment

  • Engage and work with advocacy groups, professional societies, and policymakers to elevate the value of cell-based technology as a differentiated technology

  • Engage in consistent, effective communication with the sales team to ensure brand requirements and market opportunities are captured in the annual strategic planning process

  • Collaborate with sales team to monitor competitive intelligence and competitor activities, and make appropriate recommendations, as needed

  • Collaborate with Market Research colleagues to conduct primary and secondary market research

  • Partner with Sales Force Effectiveness to perform in-depth analyses to gain deep insights into our customers and to drive training across the organization

Own message development and drive brand awareness to advance our differentiation strategy

  • Develop compelling narratives and brand messaging to maximize impact within evolving flu vaccine landscape; not only developing but executing and assuring message fluency through engagement with sales training and sales leadership. The role of the brand leader does not end with development but persists through the life of the message.

  • Provide input in the prioritization and generation of scientific data to drive the value of the brand

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Medical Team) to develop a robust RWE strategy and build an impactful dissemination plan through a disciplined professional education program (Including speaker bureau programs)

  • Developing marketing tools/resources and advancing them efficiently through the formal medical and regulatory approval process

  • Create appropriate targeted awareness campaigns for both HCPs and patients

  • Analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and recommend optimizations


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Life Sciences or Business/Marketing. MBA is a plus.

  • Bachelors' Degree in business/marketing, life sciences or healthcare discipline; MBA or other graduate degree preferred

  • 8+ years healthcare experience with 5+ years' commercial marketing experience in pharmaceutical/ biotech or relevant industry

  • Experience in a range of sales, marketing, sales training and commercial roles in the life sciences businesses
