Director, Oncology Market Development

Certis is a precision oncology and translational science company. We provide clinically relevant, predictive data that empowers cancer patients, informs treatment decisions and reduces drug development risk. At Certis, we don’t challenge market leaders or competitors. We challenge resistance to change—a mindset willing to accept the status quo or “good enough.” We’re gaining momentum, and we’re looking for like-minded A-team players to join our team.

Certis values a collaborative and creative matrix where each team member is encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning and company culture. We are a licensed California Clinical Laboratory with CLIA certification for high-complexity testing, and located in Sorrento Valley, the heart of San Diego’s life sciences industry.

Certis is seeking an engaging, influential and achievement-oriented Director, Oncology Market Development to help build our brand in the cancer care landscape. Our approach to precision oncology utilizes Orthotopic Patient-derived Xenograft (O-PDX) models to inform patient treatment plans, particularly for the many whose cancer does not respond to Standard of Care therapies. We seek a proven leader who can evangelize our approach and our mission, and who can establish referral relationships with leading concierge care organizations, academic and medical research institutions, and clinical leaders.

The successful individual will develop a Go-to-Market strategy that incorporates four specialized components: Market Intelligence, Expansion of Patient Services, Collaborative Studies and Clinical Affairs. Certis' seeks to expand the utilization of our CLIA license and Patient Services platform into meaningful use throughout the United States, to propel improvement in Patient Care, as well as the advancement of cancer research. The successful individual will:

  • Balance a thoughtful strategic market development vision with the practical implementation and execution of tactical plans as an individual contributor
  • Develop clinical and collaborative relationships that help Certis challenge the status quo and demonstrate the clinical case for specialized in vivo testing as part of treatment strategy
  • Develop, structure, negotiate and execute new alliances with strategic partner organizations
  • Collaborate with leadership and partner decision-makers to explore, frame, and operationalize strategies that will benefit patients and advance organizational goals
  • Maintain a deep and current understanding of the competitive/market landscape
