Job Summary

We are seeking a bioinformatics infrastructure engineer to contribute to the development of a data-driven computational research platform for our burgeoning Kriya Technologies group. The ideal candidate will have significant engineering experience, ideally within a fast-paced collaborative research setting, and hands-on experience with the analysis of large-scale functional genomic datasets and pipeline development for computational biology. They will enjoy a balance of responsibilities across both software engineering and scientific data analysis, and will work collaboratively with machine learning scientists, computational biologists, and laboratory scientists on a range of exciting scientific problems. This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience in a startup environment and to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of a cloud-native, data-driven computational research platform.
  • Contribute to data engineering efforts to organize and analyze diverse datasets across the complete gene-therapy development lifecycle, from early R&D through product manufacturing.
  • Lead exploratory analyses of functional genomic and molecular datasets to drive new insights.
  • Create efficient computational pipelines and tools for analyzing and visualizing large-scale biological datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with computational and laboratory scientists to execute complex analyses and streamline bioinformatics workflows.
  • Read and provide feedback on scientific papers and emerging NGS technologies.
  • Document, communicate, and present work to a broad audience both internally and externally in the form of meetings, presentations, and publications.

Primary Qualifications

  • B.S.+ in Computer Science, or M.S./PhD in Quantitative Field.
  • 2+ Years Engineering Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of a modern data-focused programming language, e.g. Python, R.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems, including shell scripting and system administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud Computing with AWS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, esp. Terraform.
  • Experience with Containers, esp. Docker.
  • Experience with CI/CD, esp. GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure & methods.
  • Experience with Scientific Data.
