The Value and Evidence Center of Excellence (V&E COE) is responsible for ensuring patients have affordable, timely access to medicines and vaccines by advancing innovative value and evidence solutions — to inform healthcare decision-making.

The US V&E Senior Director Xtandi will report to and support the V&E US lead to develop and implement the integrated Value and Evidence Strategy (IVES) for Xtandi, covering multiple indications.

She/he will be responsible for independently leading alliance partnership activities, while serving as a senior V&E strategist for the Xtandi program, which includes oversight and development of timely and impactful evidence generation, training and dissemination of technical deliverables that support the value of Xtandi in the US.

The execution of this leadership position will be in close collaboration with our alliance partners but also Pfizer US stakeholders including the VASL/VASTL GU, and cross-functional teams such as: GPD, Statistics, US & Global Medical, Field Medical, functions within PHI such as RWE CoE, and other cross-functional teams.

In addition she/he will have to maintain awareness of the Global Evidence strategy for Xtandi, provide input and interact with our Global Alliance partners, and bring technical expertise as well as diplomatic skills to bear on interactions to ensure compatibility with the US strategy.

The V&E Senior Director will function with a one-PHI mindset, promoting behaviors that exemplifies Pfizer’s values (Courage, Excellence, Equity and Joy) within the team and will work in a closely aligned fashion with other PHI team members. This is an individual contributor role without direct reports. She/he will be responsible for helping the US V&E lead in mentoring other V&E scientists in developing their V&E competencies. She/he will also facilitate V&E strategy and tactical alignment across the Prostate Cancer and GU franchises.

  • Independently lead alliance partnership and deliver senior level strategic thinking from a Value & Evidence perspective in support of Xtandi; operate with a significant amount of autonomy in Alliance interactions.
  • Be a Strategic Partner to the US Xtandi team, V&E US Lead and VAS leadership in high-level, cross-functional Xtandi strategy meetings with Senior and Executive Leaders
  • Takes charge of and leads the development or modification and execution of a multi-year US Xtandi V&E strategy that includes projects and studies (e.g., non-interventional studies, registries, etc.) to support the value of Xtandi in close partnership with the cross-functional matrix team and alliance partners.
  • Lead/guide the timely development of requisite deliverables, PRO measures and innovative tools to successfully support US launch of Xtandi in nmCSPC (EMBARK) and post-launch activities for multiple other Xtandi indications. This will involve guiding/coaching junior colleagues across the alliance while maintaining responsibility for quality deliverables.
  • Maintains/expands our deep scientific collaborations with Prostate Cancer KOLs and leads the generation of strategic and robust US real world evidence and that can be used proactively and/or reactively with US population health decision makers (Payers, IDNs, Pathway Organizations, etc.), support successful reimbursement and appropriate patient access for Xtandi.
  • Lead the development of appropriate data dissemination plans and communicate evidence generated via publications, conference presentations, and other appropriate channels; work closely with Field Medical and alliance Field HEOR teams to disseminate evidence via appropriate channels, and explore compliant, innovative promotional avenues.
  • Input into clinical trial development programs on endpoints, populations, and comparators that are relevant to both US and ex-US decision-makers
  • Prepare clear, relevant and influential written reports and presentations for a variety of audiences and effectively present information to senior and executive management at Pfizer
  • Represent Pfizer before appropriate scientific, medical, regulatory, payer, patient & other meetings, as appropriate.

  • Master's Degree in public health, health economics or allied discipline
  • 10+ years pharmaceutical industry, HEOR consulting, or HEOR academic roles or related experience including US healthcare experience from a HEOR capacity
  • Substantial technical knowledge and extensive experience in planning and executing on HEOR strategy (in particular real world evidence, PROs and economic modelling)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
  • Wide professional networks and established track record of working with external KOLs
  • Ability to influence key members of scientific and commercial teams, and across the alliance, constructively and strategically, with minimal conflicts
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

  • Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact


  • PhD or similar advanced degree in health services research, public health, epidemiology or health economics, or psychometric research and 10+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry, HEOR consulting, or HEOR academic roles or related experience.
  • Experience in Oncology from an HEOR perspective and in particular, Prostate Cancer will be a plus
  • Technical and methodological aspects of RWE such as retrospective and prospective observational study design and implementation in US (real world evidence)
  • In depth understanding of pharmacoeconomics including advanced modelling techniques, health-related quality of life, other PRO measures and macroeconomics.

Travel may be required within the US and internationally. Tight deadlines and shifting priorities are characteristic of this role.
