What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will report to the HR Site Head for this new manufacturing plant located in New Albany, Ohio, near Columbus, and provide critical support in the development and execution of the site talent acquisition strategy and workforce plan, while fulfilling a prominent role in the creation of a strong culture in the midst of dynamic growth. This role will be responsible for supporting projects and initiatives that are critical to Amgens future success and requires strong ability to influence and deliver results. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with Amgens Talent Acquisition center of excellence to execute the strategy to attract and recruit talent from targeted universities and other educational institutions. This will include identifying and leveraging sources of talent, building relationships with the targeted schools, identifying opportunities for Amgen to participate in recruiting events and managing the internship and co-op programs for the site.
  • Support the implementation of diversity, inclusion and belonging (DI&B) initiatives related to the attraction, development, engagement and retention of talent. This will include the creation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), engagement with Amgens Military Fellows Program and implementation of a program to support Amgens participation in the OneTen Coalition.
  • Lead the implementation of staff development and rotational programs at the Amgen Ohio site; this will include oversight of the sites participation in mentoring and leadership development programs and assist in the creation of new programs. The Senior Associate Human Resources will:
    • Partner with program leads to identify possible rotational opportunities for participants within the leadership development programs, based on their career and development interests
    • Support the smooth transition of rotational staff to their new assignment for Amgen Ohio.
    • Facilitate pre-onboarding discussions with rotational staff and potential managers regarding hiring timelines, scope of work and role expectations.
    • Engage site leadership in the availability of rotational candidates, informing them of key dates in the leadership program rotation cycle.
  • Work with the mentorship program leads to facilitate and oversee participation of Amgen Ohio staff members as mentors and mentees.
  • Collaborate with site Corporate Affairs lead to identify corporate and local initiatives that foster DI&B in our efforts to drive overall staff engagement.
  • Partner with the site Learning and Performance lead for new hire orientation and other onboarding activities and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the HR Site Head with creating and maintaining project plans and timelines, data retrieval, analysis and metrics, tracking budget and resources, identifying and resolving issues, working with team members to identify and focus the team on critical path activities, and developing and delivering status reports and dashboards.
  • On-site presence at the manufacturing facility in New Albany, Ohio is required.

Basic Qualifications

Masters degree

OR

Bachelors degree and 2 years of Human Resources, DI&B and/or Talent Acquisition experience

OR

Associates degree and 6 years of Human Resources, DI&B and/or Talent Acquisition experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Human Resources, DI&B and/or Talent Acquisition experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication combined with organizational skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Experience working with programs focused on diversity and inclusion
  • Self-directed and passionate about the work
