Contract Materials Management Associate I

Fate Therapeutics is currently seeking a motivated individual to support material and equipment control for Fate’s manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will assist material management personnel on the control of GMP and non-GMP material inventory and equipment to support the activities in the Fate manufacturing facility. Tasks will include shipping and receiving of supplies to ensure accuracy in inventory and timely supply of material to the controlled areas and cleanroom. This position will assist the receipt of new equipment and monitoring of equipment calibration schedule. This is a contract-to-hire position reporting to the Manager, Materials Management, and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
Responsibilities
  • Maintains, monitors, and replenishes inventory in the materials warehouse and GMP manufacturing facilities
  • Assists in order and receipt of incoming supplies to support operations for the controlled research and manufacturing facilities per current standard operating procedures
  • Performs inventory cycle counts
  • Assists in equipment receipt and installation per current standard operating procedures
  • Assists management of equipment calibration schedule
  • Adheres to appropriate PPE and safety rules
  • Adheres to good documentation practices
  • Assists on other tasks as necessary

Qualifications
  • High School diploma, relevant trade certification, and some college or vocational training in Materials Management, GMP Warehouse, Distribution, Operations
  • Able to adjust to workload on an always changing fast pace environment
  • Able to work on a collaborative environment

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • May need to work with hazardous materials
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50 pounds of equipment or supplies
  • 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
  • Occasional evening and weekend work as necessary
