What You Will Achieve

You will be part of a dynamic team of experts who form Pfizer’s Environment, Health & Safety division. Due to the importance of this team for Pfizer’s employees and patients, the organization relies heavily on its team members’ timely actions and efficiency.

You will be responsible for activities related to compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations/company policies. You will also assist in planning the changes in physical facilities to meet new environmental requirements. You will support the team in preparing contracts for licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal firms, monitoring waste handling and organizing spill-control teams. Your knowledge base will help you in updating environmental and spill-control manuals and procedures.

As an associate, your focus on the job will contribute in achieving project tasks and goals. Through your domain knowledge and commitment, you will create a collaborative team environment for your colleagues.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Contribute to the completion of project tasks and milestones.
  • Organize own work to meet project task deadlines.
  • Collaborate with and provide coaching to key stakeholders to drive action.
  • Conduct Environment, Health & Safety (local applications) trainings.
  • Inspect and assure quality control and safety execution of all facilities work.
  • Formulate cost effective alternatives for corrective actions.
  • Participate in risk assessment process and guide the team in conducting the assessment and suggesting suitable controls in guidance from supervisor.

Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in Industrial Safety, especially the manufacturing facilities areas
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interacts effectively with a wide variety of areas and a broad spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, and accountabilities
  • Good knowledge of computer operation and MS Office, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment, with Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} or Information Security Officer

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical

Some standing, ladder climbing, bending, pushing and lifting (up to 40 lbs.) may be required on a daily basis when the colleague is supporting work in the field. Other job functions require working in an office setting where sitting and computer usage would be the norm.

Mental

Can analyze and interpret data / test results.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Pfizer Sanford is a 24/7 operations. Work is primarily first shift Monday through Friday, but schedule flexibility is required, i.e. ability to participate in occasional off-shift meeting/training, project planning meetings and occasional night and weekend work.
