The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region will be home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ability to configure and execute backup workloads and catalog manipulations allowing for data migrations, backup domain mergers, NABU system host naming in complex DNS environments and to configure high availability server configurations
  • Oversight of infrastructure including installing, configurating, testing, and maintaining operating systems for NetBackup and ZL data Archival systems.
  • Configuration and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Manage and maintain Oracle/SQL databases and ESX virtual infrastructure data protection procedures
  • Manage and maintain Storage targets to include, but not limited to EMC DataDomain, Enterprise Tape Libraries, NetApp NAS, and AWS S3 integration
  • Systems Administration including Linux, Windows systems and related scripting in shell and Python
  • Collaborate with business to understand the data handled to apply appropriate controls
  • Implement and operationally manage tools to support the data protection program
  • Work with Cyber security Governance, Legal, Privacy and Regulatory teams to identify data assets and risk mitigation techniques
  • Provide support to Incident Response team in data loss related investigations
  • Developing, implement, and management of data protection technical controls
  • Participate and represent data protection during an Audit
  • Provide leadership and escalation support to Backup and Archive Operation Team to meet SLA
  • Drive the product lifecycle roadmap; managing the lifecycle to assure operational availability and specifying changes.


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Associate's Degree and Ten Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Six Years Experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience with NetBackup, including Versions 7.X, 8.X, and 9.X and extensive use of specialized agents employed in the data protection and workload configurations related to MS SQL server, Oracle, and MS O365 environments.
  • Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS) certification in NetBackup Solutions is a plus

  • Oracle/SQL databases and ESX virtual infrastructure data protection procedures

  • Systems Administration including Linux, Windows systems and related scripting in shell and Python
  • Experience with Data Lifecycle management and data archival, experience in working with ZL Technology for data archival is a plus
  • Collaborate with business to understand the data handled to apply appropriate controls
  • Implement and operationally manage tools to support the data protection program
  • Work with Cyber security Governance, Legal, Privacy and Regulatory teams to identify data assets and risk mitigation techniques
  • Provide support to Incident Response team in data loss related investigations
  • Developing, implement, and management of data protection technical controls
  • Experience with design, implementation, and operationalizing of data protection systems
  • Familiarity with various compliance standards and control frameworks
  • Experience in working with FDA and answer audit findings related to Data Protection
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a high-performance team, drive and influence changes, and a strong project management skill
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and other regulatory requirements
