What You Will Achieve

You will monitor and respond to basic functioning needs of area equipment, i.e. line speed, feeding product, line clearances, cleaning, loading or unloading materials adhering to all SOPs, cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices), plant quality, safety, and documentation systems requirements.

As part of the Technical Operations team, you are recognized as a subject matter expert with specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. You will be entrusted with adapting standard methods and procedures by applying your knowledge, prior work experience and requirements. Your business awareness of cross-organizational impact on project delivery will elevate the quality of project deliverables. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations. You will assist with training others and reinforce behaviors that will help us achieve our goal of providing the best healthcare to patients.

How You Will Achieve It

ROLE SUMMARY

This DP Operations Technician Trainer role is defined as an on the floor daily trainer. Colleagues serving in this role will be required to maintain their own Technician skills and Aseptic qualifications allowing them to be staffed to the production line regularly based on business needs. This individual will be responsible for daily training of new technicians and tasks of an Ops Technician. The incumbent will need to maintain and monitor all aspects of the trainee’s progression to ensure proper technique and knowledge is being shown to the trainee throughout the entire training process. This trainer role will be a permanent role therefore, colleagues filling this role will be responsible for training future trainers in the department as well, this will ensure sustainability to our training program. Solid communication skills will be a must for this role as trainers will need to have open and honest dialog with their trainee’s daily.

Colleagues who fill this role will still be responsible to cover their designated weekends/holidays as business needs dictate.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional/Technical Knowledge:Advanced knowledge of department in which the trainer would be training the trainee. This is essential to ensure proper training techniques are used based on knowledge and experience of the trainer. Proficient in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. As a SME on the Aseptic Technician role, this incumbent would be relied upon to provide feedback when problems arise with equipment based on their experiences.

Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence: Ability to work independently while simultaneously training an individual on the tasks they are performing. This training position will have limited direction and the trainer will have to develop a training plan based on the trainee’s specific requirements. Follows specific, detailed instructions both independently and while training.

Impact and Organizational Contribution: Contributes to the completion of routine tasks while working independently or training. Achievements and results will be measurable in the number of competent technicians the trainer is able to sign off and prove them proficient on the tasks which they are being trained.Failure to achieve results will have significant impact on departmental objectives.

Time Span of Work: Daily tasks and deliverables. Results can usually be measured on daily or weekly basis.

As directed by supervision, the Operations Technician Trainer may be responsible for day to day floor operations, daily line assignments, attending scheduling meetings, filling out the daily shift report, OEE, and reviewing and requesting SOP and document revisions. Work responsibilities will require entry into the aseptic area and will include aseptic gowning requirements.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 - 3 years related experience and/or training experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform various functions of a highly repetitive nature while maintaining concentration of task

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written procedures, canwork independently or in groups effectively

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions. Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours. Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties. Additional demands are area specific.

  • Work Environment: Colleague must work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles which require appropriate safety protection, noise levels may require protective hearing devices, eye protection required. Practices and promotes safe working environments at all times. Area specific gowning will be required. Aseptic gowning is required for work responsibilities within the aseptic area.

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills required. Demonstrated reading comprehension and writing proficiency at level that meets Job Summary requirements. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals/groups resulting in desired outcomes.

  • Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills with the ability to calculate percentages and develop basic graphs and spreadsheets.

  • Reasoning Ability: Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to: Define the problem or objective; Identify relevant concerns or factors; Identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; Formulate logical andobjective conclusions; and Recognize alternatives and their implications.

  • Leader behaviors: This is an important part of this position especially teamwork, integrity, open discussion, debate, and performance. Leader behaviors are an integral part of the job and should be demonstrated at all times.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Ops Technician Trainer will be required to work weekends, support the day-to-day floor operations, daily line assignments including frequently staffed to a line as a Technician as needed.Work requirements will include adherence to aseptic gowning procedures and work practices in the aseptic processing area.
