COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Werewolf Therapeutics is an exciting, newly public, biotherapeutics company located in the heart of the Boston/Watertown biotech hub, focusing on the development of novel biologic agents targeting immune regulatory pathways for the treatment of cancer. 

POSITION SUMMARY

Experienced research scientist who will contribute to the design and execution of our experimental programs. This individual will work closely with the rest of the Translational team to develop and execute project plans and timelines, evaluate new targets, as well as being responsible for running a variety of in vitro and ex vivo assays to support lead selection and preclinical development of our agents.

  • Assist in the development of and perform in vitro assays using primary cells, immortalized cell lines or tissues from preclinical samples.
  • Assist in characterization of immune profiles by flow cytometry in relevant tissues (blood, tumor) from preclinical models.
  • Isolate primary immune cells from human blood and mouse tissues.
  • Analysis of gene expression using qPCR and nanostring.
  • Maintain detailed and well-organized electronic lab notebook.
  • Actively participate in presentations of lab data and scientific discussions in lab meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  

  • BS or MS in Biology.

Experience and Requirements:  

  • 5+ years of experience is required. Prior industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Expertise in cell biology, cell culture techniques, and assay development is required.
  • Familiarity with ELISA, AlphaLISA, Luminex, MSD, and qPCR.
  • Expertise in the culture and isolation of primary cells including immune cells.
  • Expertise working with ex-vivo tumor tissue cultures is desirable.
  • Experience with FACS experimental procedures and analysis is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with in vivo works is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with emerging new science and/or technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for developing creative solutions and for maintaining timelines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to execute experimental plans and deliver results. Strong data analysis skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.

Computer Skills: 

Proficiency in GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office is preferred. 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/lab work environment.
  • None or very limited physical effort required.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk, which require following basic safety precautions.
