R&D Engineer
 
Responsibilities:

  • The R&D Engineer will define, investigate, and test medical devices including design verification & validation testing
  • Author, review and execute test method procedures for medical devices or tools
  • Conduct experiments to accomplish established milestones, summarize data, interpret results, and draw conclusions. 
  • Recommends options for other project approaches or experiments.
  • Recognize and resolve technical problems; evaluate options for complex experimental problems; utilizes analytical instruments.
  • Specify equipment, materials, and supplies required for the completion and implementation of technical projects.
  • Operate equipment in a laboratory in accordance with established procedures and practices. Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • The R&D Engineer will use statistical, mathematical, and other quantitative and qualitative methods and measurements.
  • Provide technical/ clinical input and work closely with other functional groups based on extensive data analysis to facilitate the progress of technical programs
  • The R&D Engineer will comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and international regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

 
Required Experience

  • Experience with defined job responsibilities (listed above)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills. The ability to work with a variety of disciplines and teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Previous experience in R&D
  • Experience working in a laboratory and operating laboratory tools and equipment (e.g., Instron, pipettes, graduated cylinders, flasks, etc.)

 
Education Level:

  • Preferred: B.S./M.S. degree in Mechanical, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences.
  • Minimum of 4 years with relevant work experience in research and/or medical device industry experience.
