The Role
The Software Engineering team is seeking a talented and highly motivated systems analyst to join us in supporting the development and maintenance of the critical lab software applications supporting our scientific goals.

The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of our lab software and related scientist’s needs, to support the operations of our lab software by:
- Maintaining critical configuration data supporting our lab software operations & lifecycle (both built in-house and third-party, particularly Benchling) 
- Implementing SQL views / scripting queries supporting decision making / dashboard reporting solutions such as Metabase 
- Provide regular metrics around user adoption & data integrity / quality to the LIMS team 
- Identify and manage data quality and integrity issues through resolution
- Maintain query tools as part of a collaborative team based on technical content expertise in a scientific field, such as molecular biology or chemistry
- Assist scientists in establishing lab notebook templates 
- Create documentation and training for scientists using our LIMS systems
- Train and support scientists and lab operators in capturing and tracking data in LIMS 


About You
In building our team, we look for people who share the collaborative, rigorous and scientific spirit of our culture. The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor in computational or life sciences, or equivalent experience / education.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience, as an analyst, data entry or software engineer / lab operations, within a scientific or laboratory environment, preferably involving all phases of software lifecycle.
- Deep understanding of relational databases & data pipeline concepts
- Proficiency in SQL
- A bias to action, and the ability to operate effectively under an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment, with a strong learning mindset and attention to details.
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to understand complex scientific problems and collaboratively develop reliable solutions that evolve predictably in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong track record in producing high quality software metrics for the product and engineering teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with audiences of diverse backgrounds, expertise and roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish solid relationships and elicit cooperation from a variety of end users

Nice to Haves:
- Wet lab experience in an early stage research or drug discovery environment.
- Familiarity, or exposure, to cell culture, high-throughput screening, imaging, sequencing and functional assays, and their related computational methods.
- Experience in high-end engineering technologies in the biotechnology space
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence
- Familiarity with Python, Django
- Familiarity with LIMS software, especially Benchling, is a strong plus
- Familiarity with AWS Infrastructure
