Sr Director Global Franchise Planning - Hybrid Role
HYBRID - This role is considered a hybrid position that is within a commutable driving distance to the Summit, New Jersey office to work onsite 1-2 days per week and attend occasional in person meetings / events as required.
The Sr. Director, Global Franchise Planning leads the design and implementation of global, cross-functional strategies for the entire Seqirus portfolio of commercialized products, inclusive of Cell-Culture (Flucelvax), Adjuvanted (Fluad and MF59), Egg-based (Afluria) and Pandemic platforms. This role leads a team of Leaders and Contributors that focuses on key strategic Commercial needs for the organization, including: global franchise strategy, geographic presence/Market expansion, launches, life-cycle management, product positioning, pricing strategy, and more. The Sr. Director, Global Franchise Planning is a member of the Commercial Development Leadership Team and interfaces regularly with Commercial Leaders across the globe as well as cross-functional business heads in relevant functions, such as Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, Business Development, Finance, Research & Development.
Global Franchise Strategy
Enhance and lead the development of the annual Integrated Franchise Plans. Socialize the plans across the organization to drive cross-functional implementation of on-strategy projects
Responsible for Leading the design of Seqirus’ global differentiation strategy, strategic imperatives, and cross-functional tactical plans to achieve commercial objectives
Develops global positioning for Seqirus portfolio
Develop, implement, and refine long term strategic pricing plan for commercialized products
Lead the Commercial Development Team’s implementation of key strategic projects on annual basis
Accountable for the development and continuous improvement of Global Franchise claims and messages
Provides strategic input into forward thinking assessments, including Business Development activities, Long-Range Planning, and other key investment decisions
Develop and implement annual life-cycle management (LCM) strategies that allow for short- and long-term growth of Commercialized brands; Align these LCM strategies with Commercial Region heads as well as cross-functional leaders (R&D, Regulatory, and others)
Oversee the budgeting for the team and identify cost improvements/efficiencies where possible
Drive appropriate market research to close knowledge gaps, inform strategic direction, anticipate market needs
Influence with Commercial Regions
Develop strategic plan for geographic presence (including market sequencing and expansion) for portfolio of products; Influence the organization in order to execute on the strategic plan
Leads team to develop customized portfolio positioning strategies for top Seqirus markets; Engage Regional Commercial Leadership to develop informed strategic plans
Collaborate with Pandemic team to develop strategic plan that allows for future growth while supporting Seqirus Seasonal business
Collaborate on major decisions with VP, Commercial Development and other Regional Leaders
Drives team to lead the planning and execution of key symposia and conferences
Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
Influences cross-functional Leaders to develop necessary tools (data generation, real-world evidence, regulatory licenses, etc.) to facilitate the implementation of the global franchise strategies
Maximize the utilization of all available clinical support for commercialized products
Owns the global and local Medical Copy Clearance (MCC) policies and is responsible for continuous improvement of such policies; interfaces with key subject matter experts to align claims, messages and materials to our global franchise strategies
Is responsible for the design of a commercial strategy for Seqirus publications; Aligns strategy with Medical Affairs and R&D to assure Seqirus maximizes the benefits from all publications
Provide strategic oversight and vision for initiatives that improve and create value for Seqirus
Utilize Market and Competitive Intelligence to inform strategic direction
Present strategic plans and other relevant items of importance to Senior Management, including Seqirus Leadership Team
Assure appropriate training and development of personnel
Bachelor of Science required, with MBA or MS (Pharmaceutical or basic sciences) preferred
Minimum 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 8 years of experience in one of the various pharmaceutical functions, e.g. commercial, sales, or marketing, preferably within vaccines
Minimum 7 years of experience in managing personnel, project management, leading cross-functional global team’s
Experience in growing established products, particularly across regions or through global capacity
Intercultural experience and ability to lead in a complex and rapidly changing business environment, preferably 7+ years
Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global environment
Strong knowledge of business processes within pharmaceutical industry, e.g. forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting, project management, etc..
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.
