What you will do

The Amgen Translational Immunology and Safety Sciences group based in South San Francisco, CA, is seeking an Associate Scientist to independently conduct immune related safety assessments to support Oncology, Inflammation, and Cardio-metabolic disorders pipeline projects.

In this vital role, you will:

• Collaborate closely with scientists within the Translational Safety organization
• Contribute to the project development
• Perform literature-based evaluations
• Perform in vitro assays for various pipeline projects

Basic Qualifications:

• Masters degree and 2 years of immunology, immune-oncology, or molecular biology experience OR
• Bachelors degree and 4 years of immunology, immune-oncology or molecular biology experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic immunology knowledge, possessing the cellular immunological techniques including multi-color flow cytometry, PBMC isolation, in vitro immune cell assays, primary tissue cell culture and ELISA
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and is highly motivated, and collaborative
• Comfortable working with PBMC and whole blood from non-clinical species
• Track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the areas of immunology or cellular biology
