Manager Business Development

 Avidity Biosciences is pioneering a new class of oligonucleotide-based therapies called AOCs designed to overcome the current limitations of oligonucleotide therapies in order to treat a wide range of serious diseases. The Manager, Business Development will report directly to the Director of Business Development. In this role, the candidate will support strategic Business Development initiatives and partnering efforts. The candidate will lead search and evaluation, due diligence, and competitive intelligence projects. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating, tracking, and documenting new and ongoing business development activities.

• Support strategic Business Development initiatives and partnering efforts
• Leverage scientific and business knowledge to assess external business development and partnering opportunities
• Proactively analyze competitive landscape
• Support due diligence efforts
• Expected to lead small to mid-sized projects
• Coordinate and document Business Development activities and partner interactions
• Manage and maintain business development SharePoint and databases
• Assist with the creation of pitch decks, term sheets and other Business Development materials
• Partner with scientific teams to understand and support their business needs
• Coordinate input and feedback from cross-functional teams
• Perform other duties as required

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences required
• Additional certification or degree in business, project management or related discipline desired
• 5+ years scientific experience in biotech/pharma
• 2+ years experience in business development, alliance management or project management
• Experience leading projects
• Skilled in trouble shooting and creative problem-solving
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Robust research and analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and data analytics platforms
• Ability to manage several projects at a time and shift priorities as needed
• Attention to detail and quality of work
