Senior Engineer, Systems

We are seeking a Sr System Engineer to analyze, design and build overall system models, specs, and performance budgets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyze system and components requirements and specifications, evaluate and ensure validity of system levels performance metrics.
• Develop test plans, cases, fixtures, and reports
• Design and develop models for complex systems involving optics, fluidics, motion and thermal components.
• Develop breadboards or prototypes, design and execute experiments to answer fundamental system performance questions, analyze and summarize data. Drive triage of problems at system level to determine root cause.
• Identify and resolve sub-system interfaces challenges.
• Participate in iterative design and product development process
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, and robustness of core systems designs
• Provide support to NPI, System Integration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Reliability Engineering.
• Lead Design Reviews
• Support dFMEA and pFMEA

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

• MS or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotic, or equivalent discipline
• 5+ years experience with instrumentation product development with MS, 3+ years with Ph.D.
• NGS or similar instrumentation experience a plus.
• Python, MATLAB, SIMULINK or other similar programing skills
• Image processing skills a plus
• Experience with motion control theory and motion systems a plus
