Role Summary

Global Indirects Sourcing team will be based at strategic locations including key manufacturing sites. Global Indirects will be accountable for stakeholder management relative to Indirect categories, supplier management and ultimately strategic sourcing to execution.Global Indirects will translate business needs into supply solutions that improve the quality of service.Indirects will partner with key SES and enabling functions to seamlessly execute and mitigate risk.

The Site Sourcing Manager role will be a key member of Global Indirects Sourcing. This role is customer facing at the McPherson site and is responsible for site Indirect Supplier management, sourcing and contracting. The Site Sourcing Manager will translate business needs into sourcing solutions and leverage back office and CSM support to execute. The Site Sourcing Manager develops and enhances Procurement’s relationship with internal customers to proactively identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement. The Site Sourcing Manager is also responsible for developing and enhancing Procurement’s relationship with external suppliers to aid improvement in the areas of cost and service. The Site Sourcing Manager will triage the Procurement support required, allocate the work to the appropriate Procurement team, including self, and support the development and implementation of robust strategies to enable execution.The Site Sourcing Manager will also input to the strategy of relevant Indirect spend categories.The objective of this role is to continuously improve through innovative solutions the value, quality and service received by Pfizer within the assigned spend areas. In addition to exemplary sourcing and demand management practices, supplier relationship management, and risk management, this role requires significant data analysis, industry trending, and benchmarking to ensure proactive and innovative strategies are delivered in a timely manner aligned with current and future business requirements.

Role Responsibilities

I - Category strategy collaboration and operational implementation

  • Provides guidance to and/or may lead/co-lead moderately complex projects, including identify needs, conduct pre-project planning, define projects, collect internal and external data, perform strategic analysis and identify opportunities, formulate procurement strategies and develop implementation plans.
  • Develop close working relationships with key leaders and teams so that S&ES is critically involved in decision making related to external activities.
  • Coordinate with other S&ES category strategy managers and sourcing groups to identify and drive effective outsourcing strategies across categories and stakeholders.
  • Develop appropriate risk management strategies which anticipate and address an extensive range of risk scenarios to assure supply of Pfizer's requirements.
  • Effectively utilize Pfizer's eSourcing capabilities in advancing sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead and/or participate on project teams as required or assigned.
  • Drive supplier innovation, sustainability, diversity, cash flow improvement and overall service improvement.
  • Partner with suppliers to foster customer of choice collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Global Indirects Sourcing (GIS) Enablement team in the triaging and processing of all requests for Procurement support from the site.
  • Ensure the site is utilizing the GIS Indirect on Demand ticketing process.

II - Sourcing activity and contract negotiation:

  • Define business needs and translate the needs into request for solution and or procurement events
  • Form, lead and facilitate cross-functional teams as applicable to execute the procurement process and plans; enable supplier selection and decision process.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal and other functions to address and mitigate contractual risk.
  • Negotiate strategic agreements as required and facilitate implementation of contracts; support sites in the implementation of strategies and services.

III -Supplier Relationship Management (SRM):

  • Establish a healthy supplier relationship
  • Single point of internal contact for assigned supplier escalation management
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement to drive the resolution of issues and improve supplier performance.

IV - Client Engagement and Customer Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the sourcing process.
  • Pro-actively seek out opportunities for value delivery in support of stakeholder lines (savings, efficiencies, innovative technologies, new business models, etc.)
  • Coordinate with other functions and impacted stakeholders to assure timely implementation and compliance with the agreed to sourcing strategies. Ability to navigate matrix organizations.
  • Work within S&ES and other Pfizer functions and departments to assist budget owners in development of operating budgets through effective communication of supplier pricing and related cost improvement initiatives.

V- Business processes and compliance:

  • Work across groups within Business Process and Operations to implement efficient P2P processes with assigned suppliers.
  • Support Pfizer's Diversity and Inclusion objectives as applicable to strategic category management within S&ES.
  • Establish relevant category business cases for change and present to internal stakeholders.

VI - Reporting:

  • Benchmark industry best practices in the assigned spend areas and lead the adoption within Pfizer as applicable.
  • Continually evaluate and monitor market conditions and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or CPSM designation or equivalent credential is desirable.
  • 6 – 10 years relevant experience in sourcing / procurement category management
  • Candidate must have demonstrated proficiency in facilitating complex, cross-functional activities and teams and in Project Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing (RFx), procurement systems, processes, and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in different types of contracts and demonstrable ability to negotiate and execute complex contracts
  • Skilled negotiator with superior listening, influencing and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers (contracts, pricing etc.)
  • Experience of supplier performance and relationship management (methods, tools, practice)
  • Experience and ability in data analysis to support decision-making and identify actions
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interactions skills
  • Project Management, stakeholder management and influencing skills are required
  • Strong experience in the management of global supplier relationships
  • Negotiation experience with large organizations providing services to the Pharmaceutical industry
  • English language fluency
