The Analytical Chemistry Group (ACG) is seeking a highly motivated Analytical Chemist, who will focus on applying the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry technology to conduct elemental analysis, multi-omics analysis and biochemical characterization of Regeneron's antibody-based therapeutic protein candidates and/or products.

You will be will developing analytical methods, executing experimental protocols for CHO cell culture, process intermediates and primary structure analysis of therapeutic proteins to support all stages of drug development. The candidate will also be involved in developing new mass spectrometry technologies supporting R&D programs.

A Typical Day as a Scientist Might Look Like:
  • Develops inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas phase chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS) based methods for elemental analysis and metabolomics to support early and late stage program development, medium and process development.
  • Develop multi-omics data integration workflow to better understand Chinese Hamster Cell (CHO) metabolism.
  • Perform analytical experiments to support the development of monoclonal antibody-based therapeutic proteins.
  • Identify and improve existing or developing innovative analytical methods to better support cell culture analysis, therapeutic protein characterization, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Works independently on designing experiments, drafting protocols, carrying out experiments, performing data analysis, documenting work in electronic notebook (ELN), generating study reports, presenting work at the group and department meetings.
  • Participates in the general lab and instrument maintenance.
This Role May Be for You If:

You have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry (or related discipline) with a focus on mass spectrometry. Have a proven track record of publications in the fields, with 0-5 years post-doctoral or pharma/biotech industry experience.

  • Expertise in either ICP-MS, GC-MS or LC-MS method development and analysis is required.
  • Strong capability to tackle analytical problems and previous experience on elemental analysis is preferred.
  • Have good knowledge on cellular metabolism, statistical analysis and expertise in proteomics or metabolomics or lipidomics data interpretation and pathway analysis.
  • Experience in multi-omics analysis is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal skills are required.
  • Willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting timelines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Must have passion in science and technology, and is highly self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
