About the Role:
The Director/Senior Director of Product Management & Marketing develops product and market strategy, product definition, positioning, and product lifecycle management that position the company to achieve long term growth, while meeting annual revenue and profitability goals. Responsibilities also include developing marketing plans and market research, pricing, product configuration, customer communications and revenue forecasts, continually identifying and assessing new markets, product and technology opportunities and ensuring resources are in place to drive marketing/product strategy and capitalize on opportunities. 


The individual will be responsible for the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and plans for Sanguine's Scientific Portfolio of Products and Services.  Success in this role will be defined as increased KPIs, including but not limited to MQLs, SQLs, Bookings, Revenue and Profitability of Sanguine's product portfolio. They will partner with the Product, Demand Generation/Marketing, Sales Development, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure consistency in branding, positioning, messaging, and timing to maximize outcomes. 


Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Segmentation, Market & Product Planning & Analysis 

  • Lead the development of scientific product and solution strategies through analysis of customer segments, customer behaviors, Voice of Customer, competitor intelligence and analysis, business trends and market opportunities. 
  • Conduct market & product analysis, competitor analysis, market strategy, and for each of Sanguine's products.
  • Analyze and refine Sanguine's existing product & service portfolio for better ‘market fit' 
  • Partner with Marketing to develop strategic marketing plans including objectives and strategy for targeted markets and products
  • Develop Pricing models and Positioning strategies 
  • Continuously evaluate trends, and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace
  • Conduct market analysis, competitor analysis, market strategy, and product portfolio strategy for relevant markets.
  • Analyze existing product and markets in terms of the ability to compete, gain market share, grow revenue and sustain or grow profitabilityProvide leadership for the development of global strategic marketing plans including objectives and strategy for targeted markets
  • Deep understanding of traditional strategic marketing tools including Pricing and Positioning
  • Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace. Including the process of obtaining and disseminating competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines

Go-to Market Strategy & Launch Process

  • Develop and provide leadership for a high performing product management team to drive the execution of strategic marketing plans for meeting overall business objectives
  • Work with demand generation/marketing to develop clear and concise collateral (Presentations, case studies, white papers, KOL campaigns etc.) to assist commercial team in communicating value to customers (both for existing products and new product/services launches)
  • Develop compelling marketing material that promotes the portfolio of products and provides evidence that the products elevate customer pain points.
  • Ensure the development of all strategic product roadmaps and corresponding marketing plans
  • Develop and deliver product marketing training to commercial teams
  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Development and OEM to define effective sales channels of all products
  • Responsible (in collaboration with sales) for the development of the company's revenue forecast
  • Own the product launch planning process for key features and entirely new products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Create KPIs for the products and track the commercial performance of product line(s) throughout the lifecycle, propose and implement product change management initiatives. 

Product Lifecycle Management 

  • Maintain existing product portfolio and evaluate ongoing success, ensuring competitive position of all products and services. 
  • Design plans to update and refresh marketing campaigns.

Identify Potential New Products and Categories

  • Work closely with the Sales Development, Sales, Customer Success Teams to gather product feedback and metrics and to launch new products to new and existing clients
  • Ensure the development of all strategic product roadmaps and corresponding marketing plans

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences 
  • Master's degree, PhD and/or MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience of relevant scientific product management or customer-facing roles in the life sciences or related industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership and management experience
  • Exceptional communication skills verbal and written; ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude
  • Self-starter who can take ownership and proactively resolve issues
  • Metrics-oriented growth and demand generation expert
  • Data-driven decision maker who can identify, prioritize, and resolve key issues and risks.
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment with competing deadlines and changing priorities.
