Annexon is advancing a portfolio of innovative product candidates designed to block the activity of C1q and the entirecal complement pathway: ANX005 (intravenous administration), ANX007 (intravitreal administration), and ANX009 (subcutaneous administration). Annexon is deploying a disciplined, biomarker-driven strategy designed to improve the probability of technical success of its portfolio.

Desired Candidate Profile

Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources, the Director of HR will partner with client groups and leadership to drive organization business objectives and initiate HR programs successfully. Responsibilities include talent development, organizational effectiveness, leading through change, HR analytics, employee relations, talent acquisition and, building engagement at all levels of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement HR strategies in support of business priorities, including applicant tracking and HR systems, talent management, and policy and procedure development.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of HR initiatives and projects including talent planning, DEIB efforts, and feedback cycles.
  • Advise and support organizational development, career laddering, and talent development.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to analyze trends and metrics, develop performance metrics in partnership with the HR group to assess effectiveness and develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Supportive role in change management initiatives, helping to ensure thorough and effective planning, communication, execution, and follow-up throughout the organization.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct or oversee effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Support talent management strategies and processes to meet the needs of the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure that HR practices remain in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills

  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to educate and influence through formal and informal communications.

  • High level of initiative and ability to quickly resolve problems
  • Solid organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish demanding timeline objectives
  • Must have the ability to work at strategic, operational, and tactical levels
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Strong project management experience and effective organizational skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Preferred Master’s degree; SPHR and / or SHRM-SCP or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of HR business partner/talent management experience.
  • Experience working with leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with HR systems implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


Annexon’s Director, Human Resources will be required to be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus. An applicant is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
