To help us meet our goals we are looking to hire a Technical Application Liaison (TAL) West Coast to join our family!

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Lead KOL network engagement & strategic prospecting in direct partnership with the sales and product management teams
  • Provide technical pre-sales support across all field-sales functions including pre-call strategy, technical introductory as well as customized application/customer-specific sales presentations,
  • Present scientific webinars/seminars across all forums (e.g., institutions, conferences, national platforms),
  • Attend scientific conferences as the eyes and ears for Mission Bio: keeping up to date on cutting-edge science in support of domain knowledge within the sales process, as well as serving as a conduit for both scientific and competitive intel back to our core internal teams
  • Build targeted sales/marketing campaign messaging
  • Support customers in conceptualizing and designing scientific studies that leverage the Tapestri platform
  • Develop and conduct technical training for the commercial team focused on novel applications & new market strategies, Tapestri publication reviews, technology updates/launches, etc.
  • Travel overnight up to 60% to attend company meetings and functions, conduct customer meetings within their institutions as needed, and to attend scientific conferences. Additional events or meetings may also require travel as assigned/necessary

To be successful in this role, your background and experience should include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical presentations in front of both small and large audiences, including both in-person and virtual presentation formats
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail oriented and results driven
  • Proficiency with Google Suite software, especially common presentation software including Google Slides & PowerPoint
  • Exceptional self-motivation and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines without direct supervision
  • Excel equivalent" to the commercial experience requirement interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Work 100% remotely, maintaining a home office within reasonable proximity to major airport

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (genetics, cell/molecular biology, etc.) or equivalency in practical industry or other professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aggregate across any commercial equivalent or academic contexts within one or more of the following: NGS or genomic microarray applications, solid/heme oncology research, immunology, or cellular & molecular genetics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of field sales, application specialist/support experience, product management or marketing in genomics or oncology-related field
  • Experience using a CRM system (SFDC preferred)
  • Experience working in a molecular biology wet lab. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field of study
  • Single cell genomics experience of any kind
  • 10 years of experience in field sales, application specialist/support, or product management in genomics or oncology-related field
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com
  • Experience selling and negotiating in the biotechnology field with a track record of success and in roles of increasing responsibility is a plus. 
  • Prior experience supporting any aspect of the precision medicine, translational research, or clinical diagnostic markets
  • Intimate understanding of cancer genetics research, biomarker discovery.
  • Deep knowledge of NGS applications, including translational and clinical oncology research applications
  • Experience selling clinical research solutions across the clinical trial paradigm
