What You Will Achieve

Your expertise in the manufacturing domain will help Pfizer with the operations required for the assembly and packaging of finished goods. You will manage product finishing scheduling, setting up, operating, maintaining, and adjusting processes or packaging equipment.

As part of technical operations, you will be developing and applying your knowledge of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your receptiveness to new ideas will enhance the team’s ability to achieve goals and targets. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks and identify process issues or problems that involve direct application of your skills and knowledge. You will be relied upon to maximize quality and efficiency, completing batch records and associated documentation, and working in an integrated computerized manufacturing environment.

How You Will Achieve It

Packaging Techniciansare responsible for the operation ofproductionlines. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards (SOPs) and following all regulatory requirements (i.e., GMPs & OSHA). This job includes the following functions:

  • Perform all tasks in strict compliance with operating procedures, best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Dependable – Follows unit / area / plant requirements and guidelines.

  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors within the unit, takingownership and accountabilityof theproduction schedule,product quality, and leading by example.

  • Willing to assist other production units in order to meet unit / site goals.

  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks in support of the Kalamazoo Site objectives.

  • Demonstratinggrowth mindset to share best practicesandutilize downtime effectively.

  • Completing and maintaining all required training on time

  • Perform alloperating andpackaging duties as required by operating unit.

  • Operate selectedproductionprocessequipment.

  • Perform Line clearances and cleaning.

  • Perform necessary process checks including but not limited to, package checks, hourly audits, etc.

  • Consistently displays Own-It behaviors in accordance with Pfizer Core Competencies: Seizes accountability; grows self; change agile; self-awareness; commits to one Pfizer; peer relationships.

  • Train and mentor new colleagues and TCWs

  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding issues and errors with GMP documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High school diploma / general education degree (GED)

  • 6+ months of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or relatable experience.

  • 6+ months of GMP experience (e.g. current or previous Pfizer colleague or contractor or similar)

Nice-to-Have

  • Mechanical experience / knowledge preferred.

  • An associate degree, OR Veteran/Military experience.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands:

  • Considerable standing. Walking, bending reaching and lifting up to 42 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination is required.

  • This position requires the manual packaging of products.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Positionscan bestaffed across all three shiftsbased on business needs. Weekend, holiday, and overtime may be required to meet business or customer needs.
