ROLE SUMMARY

This role will have responsibilities that span across the Capital Markets, Treasury Planning & Working Capital groups in the Corporate Treasury organization.

  • Capital Markets is responsible for strategic management of the capital structure of the company, monitoring and taking advantage of capital markets developments, forecasting corporate cash flows, supporting external financial reporting, managing the relationships of key external stakeholders (banks, ratings agencies and investors) and valuing Pfizer’s annual incentive compensation grants. This role will primarily be responsible for supporting the capital markets team including corporate finance, cash flow, financial reporting and incentive compensation.
  • Treasury Planning & Working Capital group is responsible for managing and supporting company’s consolidated cash flow forecast and Pfizer’s “Drive for Cash” working capital improvement program. This role will be responsible for the Working Capital PMO, Other Working Capital initiatives and Reporting Analytics for the company many working capital initiatives. In addition, this person will oversee Pfizer Treasury’s role in Board Meetings for the Pfizer Foundation

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be a key contributor to a team that performs a wide range of projects inside and outside the Treasurer’s organization and will have direct interaction with key leaders in the finance organization including CFO, Treasurer, and other members of the Finance Leadership Team.

  • Managing and maintaining Pfizer Treasury’s long-term cash flow forecast, intercompany financing agreements, and budgeting/forecasting of Pfizer’s interest income and expense
  • Supporting the team in setting Pfizer’s strategy for overall capital structure.
  • Taking the lead role in the Project Management Office (PMO) for the “Drive for Cash” working capital improvement program.
  • The PMO provides guidance and support on target setting and forecast processes, monitors and measures the workstreams performance and analyzes overall impact of the project on the company
  • In addition, this role will lead the Other Working Capital workstream for the working capital improvement program.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams, the selected candidate will identify opportunities and implement procedures to optimize other working capital items to improve company’s working capital position.
  • Additional projects include valuation of fixed income and equity securities; valuation of options/swaps/forwards and other derivatives; asset/liability management analyses; corporate finance related activities; corporate cash flow/interest income and expense forecasts; in/out licensing, and risk-share type deals; and working on cross-treasury and cross-divisional projects on an corporate finance advisory basis.
  • This position affords an opportunity to gain exposure to many of the key strategic questions facing Pfizer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative field; MBA/CFA preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience within investment banking, corporate treasury or corporate finance
  • Strong leadership experience and ability to articulate complex topics in a manner will understood by senior leadership
  • Key attributes include strong analytical & interpersonal skills, detail-oriented individual with intense focus on performance and delivery of Right-First-Time results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel (modeling experience preferred), Bloomberg, Word and PowerPoint, Risk Management applications required
  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, various asset classes (eg. Fixed Income, Equities) and defined benefit pension plans
